I finally got a hold of an Intermountain FT A/B set that came in the mail today. I was admiring them when the engineer side windshield on the A unit fell out! I tried pressing it back into place, but ended up with the windshield falling into the cab.

Are the windshields supposed to be press-fit, or should I glue it back into place? Has anyone else had this problem?

I would be surprised if they were glued in, as that would add meaningful manufacturing cost/time. That said, if you do decide to glue it in, I would recommend Microscale Kristal Klear. That's what I use on the back of Kato number boards to keep them from falling out. It dries totally clear.

Ah, Jack, you are behind the times. Several of the lesser brands have glued in windows for years, even on undecs. Apparently only a few care, as it hasn't changed.

But your suggestion of using Krystal Kleer is spot on. Another option is "canopy glue."

Yeah, I only own one non-KATO loco, so I’m not current on what the other brands are doing.
