MILW E-9A 38A at Fox Lake, IL in 1975. The 38A was donated to the rail museum in Green Bay, WI, but was in horrible shape. I'm not sure what became of it. Then as now, Fox Lake is the end of commuter territory on the branch, once the Milwaukee's Janesville Sub.
Younger and decidedly dumber days... In 2004, I hiked to a neat rock outcrop just beyond Tunnel 27 on the Moffat. Eastbound coal loads were the only train I caught there, but a westbound was the goal.
Not much action, my last visit. They only make a run every other day, and my timing must have been off. Their shops at St. Maries, Idaho:

Reading a forum, I found that it was up for sale in 2009 and the various photos I found of it all pre-dated 2009. If it remains on the roster, I guess it never sold.
