Hit the LHS and a hardware store today. This is the start of a long coal train. I want two more locos and I have 32 more cars on order. The loco is the WP heritage unit. The tool box is to stream line the way I goto meets with my modules.
Although not model train directly related, but indirectly. I received my five disc set of Missouri Pacific Historical Society all on being hired on , what to expect, how to make a train and safety Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I bought a set of Autoracks from a fellow N scaler which should be in my mailbox when I get off work. Also last night had to purchase some terminal strips for my modules online. Seems these things are so rare that people at hardware stores dont even know what they are when shown a picture. I used to find these things all the time, usually when I wanted the type that are used with forked crimp connectors I could only find the screw down type (the ones I want now) and now all I can find are the type I don't want. So eBay to the rescue, they should be here by the end of the week. Will post pics of the autoracks tonight!
Whoaaaa... how big is your mailbox. Hope that fellow N scaler isn't stuck in there... LOL... badda-boom! Sorry... couldn't help myself. Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
I have often found myself putting the subject in the wrong place within a sentence. Then other times I have lost myself within the subject of a sentence... Hmmm? BTW... what type of autoracks are you receiving? I was very supportive of the manufacturers which began making N scale autoracks about 2004. Prior to then the only choice was a very poorly executed version by ConCor. They should have been executed better??? Hmmm? The Red Caboose, Microtrains and Athearn autoracks are terrific. I like the open autoracks because they fit within my modeling era. Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
Good thing you chose the AutoTrain because you can run it daily. To stay prototypical, any other Amtrak long distance train can only be run 3 days a week
After taking an extended break from actually doing much modeling (and doing some major home renovations), I stumbled across a bunch of N scale for cheap at an estate sale. I've ordered $250 in decoders and broken out my Digitrax system only to be reminded how much I HATE Digitrax firmware. Still I forge onward with the help of JMRI to set up a bunch of new locomotives including several with (factory installed) sound, which I swore I would never do again (past experience is that more than 2-3 locos with sound and it just becomes noise).
I received this in the mail today from Midwest Model Railroad. This should keep me busy for a few days or so. Cannot wait for the next one to arrive! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Opened a couple packages today. Wished I would have had some of the couplers earlier this year while trying to solve a pilot coupler problem on a steam loco. Restocking the drill bit collection, too. Got some new hold downs, center drills, chuck and threadlocker in the other box. If I didn't have trains, I might just buy tools for the fun of it! Stay safe.
Pickup 3 MT hoppers, 1 Bowser hopper, 1 MT cattle car and 1 gondola of unknown make. Most have body mounted couplers and weathering. He said was going to put rest on e-bay. I said should list them here first.
I bought a Pi-SPROG-3 system (complete with Raspberry Pi 4b, Sprog hat, power supplies, case, & SW preloaded on SD card). This is my first foray into DCC (!), so I also bought a pair of Kato SDP40F's in ATSF livery, with factory installed, non-sound decoders.
Just received my diner that I ordered online. It’s an Waffle House, Knights diner, and a photomat. Which can double as an gate guard shack.
My most recent haul from entering items into the Trovestar N scale database. It took just over 200 entries to earn this batch.
