Good Morning, good evening, where ever you may be. Welcome to the Gateway to the weekend. Are you ready? Do you have your project list? Let's get started.

Saturday: After work today, I may go to my favorite hardware store and pick up a few more sheets of hardboard and 1X3s. I need to spend Saturday morning working on the area that my new HO switching layout will be attached. I plan to use the 1X3 brackets I made last weekend in conjunction with more 1X3 strips in which to attach the hardboard that will make up the skyboard for the layout. My goal is to get said brackets, strips and hardboard up, mudded and sanded before Ang and I leave in the afternoon to be with friends.

Sunday: Hopefully the weather is nice as I would like to finish up some things in the shop. I'll hopefully be painting the skyboard blue as well as attaching the fascia to the HO layout. I also need to finish up the HO module by adding soil from the back yard and ballast the track. I was able to install the NCE panel and test everything yesterday so the basic scenery is all that is left before I call this project finished. I'll see what other things I can get done as well as I'm sure domestic duties will crop up.

So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 26th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, get lots done, be safe, be healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

Hoping to continue my endeavors to expand the fleet of Frisco cars for the layout's operations. Working on a number of Accurail cars, including conversions from fish-belly to straight steel frames. More decals have arrived from K-4 Decals so progress looks promising. Here are a few in the works. Might even get to some weathering by Sunday.....

Have a good one all, and take care,

This weekend (tomorrow) will be watching one football game. Other than that all modeling. The plan is to continue detailing and "cleaning up" some scenery items. Also plan on working on the South River Model Works "MEYERS" building that is about 85% complete. I have both buildings associated w/ the kit done, but need to start the siting working and details. That's the thing w/ craftsman building kits. The last 15% takes twice as long as the first 85%. That is, get it almost finished and it sits there

Just realized I haven't actually worked on any modeling projects for three weeks!

This weekend I'll regroup, keep it simple. Mount terminal boards inside door and wire up dc blocks.

I think I finally figured out my new laptop issues (read operator issues) and will try once again to take and upload photos using camera and laptop.

My new LED tape lights should arrive this weekend so I'm planning to play with that a little bit also. I want the same lights over workbench and layout.

    Good morning all,

This weekend I plan to work on installing those IR transmitter stands that I finished last weekend along with the sensors under the tracks. I have a couple more Azatrax circuits on the way but I can experiment with the correct positioning of the sensors with the ones I already have.

    Everyone have an enjoyable weekend.

Just picked up a bit of HO track and an Accurail outside braced wooden 40' box car kit. For a scene of an interchange, (across a loading platform), between standard and HOn30 gauges. Supposed to get quite cold, windy and snowy this evening. Something nice to do indoors, while keeping warm! :)

Boxcars and more boxcars to weather I have.

I had a major headache with the Access Database I made for inventorying my trains. It basically crashed. Luckily, I only lost one or two entries. The bad thing is I have to remake it. On the good side I discovered some ways to make it better and more stable. I will be working on this also.

Tom, after years of those same type of issues with trying to keep track of my collection, I have been happy with the Trovestar online database. I am in the n scale database but they also have an HO version, link below.

Once I had problems with my computer. I finally discovered it was the nut over the keyboard causing problems. ;) Seriously folks. Where did the week go? Monday a little spurt. Boiler lamination became a problem. Tuesday, waiting for pest control. (No not for me.) Wednesday, out running errands including car tag (the clerks computer kept "spinning"), two bank errands, library was back open, lunch w/ free hamburger coupon, visit w/ daughter and groceries. Thursday, let's reset. Tried better material approach for boiler jacket. Not quite. Tried one more thing. Jackpot (I think)! Friday, clouds followed by "nappishness". Football game at grandsons high school tonight. Still optimistic about Sat. and Sun. All be safe and have fun. :D

I'm spending the weekend getting ready to pick up my new Flyer Discover toy hauler. It arrived yesterday in town, and I will be picking it up Tuesday. I am assembling my collection of mods, including the Lithium battery charger/converter, popout tarps, tie down, diesel heater, portable outhouse\shower\changing room (I don't want an indoor bathroom or black water tank), etc. I am getting the first one in Idaho, so I am jazzed.
nav-flyer-discover.jpg I plan to take it out next weekend for a week.

Work continues on the loop modules. Tuesday I finished frame reassembly. Got the dimensions right this time with the help of a neighbor. Now to make a few adjustments to the legs and move the whole shebang indoors. It’s gotten cold so adding the foam board and all other work will be done indoors to my wife’s chagrin. Also hit the LHS today picked up a couple cars and a new loco. I need two more locos now to make my long train for the loop. Also hit the hardware store and found a way to stream line my haul into the free-moN meets.[IMG]

@Kevin Anderson - how much roughly did that craftsman stacking set put you back? I have parts of it at my local Lowe's and parts at the local Ace . . .

I could take a random sentence from everyone except @rray and it would describe things I have to potentially choose from this weekend. We have one more tropical system trying to form in the Gulf this weekend, so I may get a day of rain or two ahead of it. cloudy and grey right now actually. So we shall see.

The first three were $89, cheaper than if they were bought separate. The other two pieces were around $21 each. I may need one more part. I found all parts at Lowe’s

Bottom has all the power chords and clamps
    Next is tools
Third section has all the DCC stuff
Then slide out drawer with necessities
Top obtains small boxes with modeling supplies
Last one I need to get will hold all the curtains for the modules

First weekend in a couple of months that I don't have at least one full day committed to working on the parents estate. Plan is to sleep in both days, then head down to the layout and see where the day takes me.

:( Bummer. A lot of work to rebuild such a file. I hope you had at least one backup copy?

Yes I have a backup. I did lose the last five or six records I inputted. I had to create a new database because when I tried to enter records in the backup after a few entries problems start again. Something is corrupt. For a first attempt it wasn't bad but I did make some mistakes. Because of the crash Iwas forced to learn a few new tricks that I used in the new version. I hope these tricks will prevent the problems.

The downside is I have to reenter the records. The good thing is I do not have to search for the information. It will be an exercise in cut and paste.
