Welcome back everyone. I hope you all had a great weekend. By the looks of Friday's thread, we were certainly ambitious. I hope we have some great progress images to show and welcome to all new members. Let's get started!

Saturday: I slept in a bit and that was a mistake. By the time I had arrived at my favorite hardware store, all the weekend warriors were there. I did manage to pick up the blue paint for my backdrops and shadowbox as well as some LED lighting. Most of what I grabbed was either for the modules or the house. I got back in time for lunch and then started to clean out the garage so I could work. No sooner did I get started, the rain they said was due on Sunday arrived early. After an hour of raw, cold weather, I threw in the towel and put everything away. I did manage to get all the material cut for the HO module legs.

Sunday: The sun was out and we started the day by having breakfast out at the Original Pancake House. It was nice to have a hot cup of coffee and pancakes. We stopped by the FreeMo set up and talked with friends for a bit. They had a nice set up and trains were running nicely. Once home, I managed to finish the HO module for work:
HO Module.JPG It is a simple design, 3/4 inch ply ends, 1/2 inch sides, 2-inch foam top and 1/4 inch stringers with a 1/8 hard board fascia. I'll fill in the cracks, paint and install track this week.

    Module Leg Design.JPG
My HO modules, the two that will feature Lance Mindheim's track plan will have legs and be portable. Same design as above but with legs. I built 48-inch long legs made of 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch ply to form a 2-inch square.

    Leg design close up.JPG
Since I'm not getting younger, I devised this simple method of leveling the legs. Rather then placing a block with a T-Nut on the bottom, I found 8-inch long carriage bolts and fed it as seen here. The 2-inch pocket allows the foot to retract into the leg for transport and storage and the lock nut at the top makes leveling easier with a ratchet. Still need to get on the floor but a bit easier. A good weekend with a lot accomplished.

So how about you? What did you get done? Show us and tell us about it. We'll assemble again on Friday the 9th to do it all over again. Until then, have a great week, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

Weekend didn't quite go like I planned, or thought. I did work some on the stairs to the signal cabin. However, i had a package show up from TCS with some stuff I ordered including 2 WOW sound kits for my 2 RS-1's. I spent all day yesterday getting started on those. One I got installed, minus the LED lights which I'll hook up tonight or sometime this week. Probably finish the other RS-1 next weekend.

Well - my weekend was a mixed bag.

Saturday - went as planned (For the most part) - My Silverdo got her new treads (I sure do like the coopers). Kitchen sink got its TLC. All is good there. --
    Absolutely no MRRing - bummer

Sunday -- No MRRing again - I just couldn't get motivated - the worst thing I could have done was force myself --

Hope Y'all had a great weekend,
    Wolf

Weekend started as planned. Spent most of Saturday putting up the outside Halloween decorations. I was so busy I missed the Zoom chat. I apparently did something to my back while decorating. Woke up yesterday with a lot of pain. At one-point walking was an issue. A couple of pain killers and some hot compresses and I was able to move slightly better. Things finally improved after dinner and I could do somethings as long as I did bend too much. This morning there is some lingering pain but not too bad.

I did not get any weathering done. I did assemble a Stewart Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines AS-16 and run it for some time.

I found time to assemble the Rasputen vehicle kits. I now have over 30 of them on the layout, combined with others from Lineside, C&C, Showcase, and others. Here's a few pictures. IMG_2318.JPG IMG_2320.JPG IMG_2322.JPG IMG_2324.JPG

    Some assembly required-

Great weekend! Spent some cash, collected materials, got a new toy....

Saturday was spent buying materials for some new modules. I needed a new mitre saw so picked up one of those too.

Sunday I started building. Well actually I now have a pile of puzzle pieces to assemble. Still needs some holes cut and sanding to be done then assembly Will begin.

My weekend co to use through Tuesday so I should get a lot more done. I need to visit a couple of LHS and I still need a few materials l.

No model railroading for me either. I got my Flu Shot, then a couple days later my Shingles shot #1, and my arm fell sore. I did get the oil and filter changed on my truck, but after that I hurt too bad and spent the weekend Netflixing The Blacklist. Did some yardwork this morning, so I'm pulling out of my funk now. Arm's better.

Saturday was smokey so I worked on getting the new siding control circuit installed but found it was only working intermittently. Ended up finding and repairing a bad solder joint. This first photo shows both the new circuit and the existing one that controls the Wye turnout. The second photo shows the buttons pointed out in blue that will control what the circuit does.

Sunday the smoke had cleared so I did some tree pruning and other yard work before getting started on the next circuit which will control the rest of the yard ladder. Also ran a few trains out of the upper (WP) yard. Nice weekend, you you all had the same.

My weekend started out as planned. Went up in the country to a craft fair. Then went over to Attalla to check with some folks. Then went up to Noccalula Falls for a "short" hike. Some of this had a little rock scrambling. Saturday night went to see great granddaughter at my daughter's place. Also played Don't Rock the Boat with great granddaughter's siblings (5 and 7). Home late. Sunday, regretted "scrambling". Knee sore. Working with ice pack and ibuprofen. Getting better. Model railroading...not so much. I do have a boxcar repair of a strange nature as well as continuing the list. We shall see what we shall see. The above efforts are outstanding. I hope those dealing with challenges get well soon.

Well, it sounds like the aches and pains were going around this weekend. I made the trip to TN Saturday and completely wore myself out. Slept very late Sunday and woke up to a small list of honey do's which I finished before lunch. After lunch I was going to head down to the layout but was feeling sore from Saturday and the morning plus had a bit of a sinus headache so took some Advil and allergy medicine and slept the afternoon away. Knees are still a bit sore today. Next weekend involves staying home so should be a better time :) I hope

    Not much model railroading.
I did a lot of yardwork. While doing the last thing of the day, putting away the wheelbarrow, I twisted wrong and felt something painfull in my back.

After dinner I read my camera manual and played with manual camera settings.

Saturday I rested my back. Luckily no spasms or nerve pain. By lunch it felt fine. After lunch I decided to finally clean out the summer kitchen and worm bins. I had been postponing this for too long. Got everything pulled out then had to stop and rest my back.

After dinner I took up the coal and lumber yard tracks and added feeders to track.

Sunday I glued down the 3/16" foam to raise up coal and lumber yard track and played around taking test shots of some old projects.

Sorry to read about the aches and pains. I feel your distress. Seems those spasms, aching joints and stiff muscles just show up out of nowhere at this age. This weekend I pruned some trees and shrubs then climbed up the ladder to check the gutters. Will have a few more limbs to do later, but all is good now. Went into a Hallmark shop on Saturday. Turned around and walked out immediately. It was the first day of "Keepsake Ornament Debut" and the place was mobbed. Looked like an old fashioned Blue-Light Special, if you remember those.

Didn't get my modeling objective accomplished. I spend quite a bit of time trying to create a workable template to build ladders for my Vandy tender. Finally decided it was time to join the 21st Century and get some real CAD software. Nothing to show off this Monday, but perhaps this week.

    Stay well!

I can see the vision taking shape. Hooking up power may have to wait until next weekend. 20201005_221558.jpg 20201005_221651.jpg

Well, they were best laid plans, but all went astray. Saturday morning got home from work, cleaned up, had a quick meal, a couple of chores, fell asleep. Sunday morning got home from work, cleaned up, had a quick meal, a couple of chores, fell asleep. So, I was going to give it a try yesterday, but instead spent the entire day fighting with health insurance nonsense. *Sigh*:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
