The last Western Pacific GP20 that I saw wasn't even in WP colors. Union Pacific 488 (formerly WP 2009) was the only WP GP20 that was painted into UP colors. I found her in Milpitas, Ca:

I think 2009 was that unit I saw in Portland. Unfortunately I cannot find it. Oh well. That's what happens when you loan stuff to people you mistakenly believe are "friends". I did find one grabbed, of 2004 in Portland. Funny how the green paint has aged to an appearance of essentially being black.

I have had this unit for many years, a 2008 Atlas release, I think. Great Falls Model Railroad Club layout:

And a totally prototypical 4% grade with helpers meeting the head end:

While most people think of the Feather River Canyon when they think of the WP, much of it's run was actually through the deserts of Nevada and Utah. My home layout models some of the paired track they had with the SP between Winnemucca and Carlin, Nevada. Here are a couple of my U23B's taking their train westbound off the paired track and onto the WP line at the Weso crossover just east of Winnemucca.

Nscalestation, you nailed it. I'd love to see someone model Silver Zone Pass and Arnold Loop.

    Here's my wobbly.
Unlike the tremendous background scene in Russell Straw's photo shot. You'll have to fill in the with your imagination.
    Nice shot!

I have one more shot of the California Zephyr. I'll keep searching for it.

Just noticed those confounded, cursed Rapido Couplers. Aiiyiiyii !!

Like your Avatar, Nick Lorusso. Looks like the Wobbly at the Stockton tower. Am I right?

I wondered that but the hills in the background threw me.
    Thanks for the comeback.

Trainworx drop-bottom gon give you a chance to make a correct length IMG_3107 (2).JPG WP Woodchip car that they had a lot of. Problem is the decaling. No Decals so letting is one at time.

Such fine photos with terrific backgrounds and then here comes mine. Glad you liked the previous shots and here's three more.

Western Pacific's, California Zephyr diverted to HP Rails.

Western Pacific and SP Lark at Horse Creek Draw.jpg
It was Railroad Days on the H&P. A call went out for all the clubs and museums to bring their best passenger train equipment.

    Layout 3-8-07 006.jpg

This is a train that I put together shortly before my Dad passed on. I'm sure he's operating railroads in the great beyond and showing them how to do it. Anyone that knows about the California Zephyr knows this isn't the correct prototype observation dome car. It is a ConCor. Later Kato came out with the correct passenger cars.

Now do you want to see the real Wobbly around here? I have him posted on my Layout Restoration Thread. What the heck why not:

    Changes-Me-Wheres The Plan..jpg

That'd be me and I'm in the middle of changing the track plan for the hidden staging yard. It hit me after this camera scared me...FLASH !! What the (expletive I can't use here...Beep ). At that point, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with the track ladder. As to the camera. I had sat the camera down and must have hit the timer button. And now you know the rest of the story.

Now that isn't funny at all. How dare you laugh at me like that.:mad::eek: It was 2002 if memory serves me correctly. I was recovering from a heart attack and trying to get my Dad's layout up and going again. Today, now I have facial lines, crows feet and age marks. That was a good picture. Laugh at me will you! Aiiyiiyii !!

You a funny guy. Now that was funny, to funny. To funny for my shirt...:D LMAO;)

Amtrak News Update: Just caught #4 SWC leaving Barstow, Ca. I thought the schedule had changed. Must be next week. Or someone changed their mind.

Don't you just hate it when they are available only in a different scale? Especially when it's O scale...

    https://www.protocraft.com/category.cfm?ItemID=397&Categoryid=32

You might be able to print some in N

I put a like on the above post but not because I like having the decals in O scale only. However, if you know what you are doing you can scan the decals sheet and shrink it to N Scale. Then print on clear decal paper, something other then Ink Jet. To get the results you want.

Nuts...O Scale. With my computer skills, any effort to SCAN, Reduce, enlarge would result in me ending up in the Emergency Room
