I have a turnout that shuts off the track power when I throw it. I’m about to build a small layout and am wondering if I need to get a new turnout or if there’s a issue I can resolve myself? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Kato turnouts are power routing. You would need a jumper between the two legs to keep both powered at the same time. It is not a damaged piece of track. The main benefit for power routing was for DC operations and being able to control which tracks receive power. For DCC or small single-block DC operations, you can add jumpers to keep all routes powered.

Are they both #6s too? Unlike their #6s, the power routing feature of Kato's #4 turnouts can be turned on or off. If they're #6s, you are probably unknowingly feeding power into them from the other ends from their diverging and/or normal routes. Mr. Trainiac's post sums it up well.
u can run jumpers from one track right to the other track that way power will be on both with out having to run long feeder wires. just put short feeders on the turn outs at the y end.
