This afternoon I used caulking to attach rock castings and going to do scenery this evening. Edit: Also moved lights from modules 01, 02 and 03 to 08. Joe
This morning I applied plaster to blend around the rock castings on the north end, right, of module 07 and south end of 08. Still have a few more castings to blend on the north end and gorge. Next step is painting rock castings and mountain side, then sift real dirt and ground foam on top. Cynthia made a lot of trees for this module. Joe
Just finished with some scenery on modules 07 and 08. Next step is scenery for the north end and gorge. Joe
I added some more trees on modules 07 and 08, also placed some brush to help hide the joint between 07 and 08. Still need to paint the rock castings some more. Cynthia and I are going to make trees this evening. Joe
Nice work on the rocks. I find Sculptamold works great for blending rock castings. It looks more like real rock and is easier to work with than plaster on steep slopes.
I received the steel trestle this afternoon and in the process of putting it together. Man there's a lot of pieces. My legs have been giving me problems the last few days and haven't been able to work on layout but I'm feeling a little better today. Joe
Glad your feelin' better Joe, knee aches and pains are never fun. Keep up with the photo updates and all-best thread ever for inspiration, ideas, and all around happiness!
Hate to hear your legs are bothering you Joe. Like Kurt said, that's never fun. Speaking from experience. Love the progress and looking forward to seeing this steel trestle come together.
I've spent the last two evenings removing flash from the trestle parts and finally have it ready to assemble. There was a lot of flash and the instructions are not that great, luckily have experience building bridges. Joe
Last evening I got three sections of the steel trestle put together and plan on putting the other two together this evening. Hopefully will install it on module 08 tomorrow. Joe
