Where did your drive mechanism come from, it looks like it fits nicely?

    The tender trucks are from?

    Mornin Bill,

The mechanism and tender frame/trucks are all from a B'mann Spectrum J Class 4-8-4. Keep in mind that the boiler shell is just sitting on the chassis and has not been "fine tuned" as yet.

    Stay well,
    Carl

Here is one detail not often modeled. The "P" pipe coming out of the tender dog house for the brakeman to relieve himself discretely.

You can see it real well here on another class of tender.

Thanks for the info Russ. I have both of those images, because of the doghouse, and wondered what that streak was. Now that you told me, I brought the images up full bore and can see the pipe. I shall add that "detail".

    thanks,
    Carl

Here are some new pictures made today. The boiler shell just about sits as it should and I have a lot of work to do on the boiler. The tender is sitting well, although the picture shows, I think, that the oil bunker end is a tad too high. Easy to adjust. I am ready to paint it white so that I can add the rivet decals. More to come...............

At an airshow in the late 1940's, I saw a kid in the cockpit of a WW-II fighter plane hold up a rubber cup with a hose attached, obviously a relief tube (p-pipe). He yelled, "Look Ma. I found a megaphone", putting it to his lips as he yelled.

Good Grief, how did we survive our youth without the government to guide us.

I understand that in the cab, the engineer and fireman could just open the firedoors on the firebox. No chance of putting out the fire. Have to be quick though.
