Well I am a big fan of the Micro-trains US Navy cars and my hope that some day they release a car or caboose in Tiger Stripe Camouflage or some other pattern for the US Navy SEAL Teams, it can be numbered USN-NSW 1 for Norfolk and another one USN-NSW-2 for San Diego.

Anyone here want to possibly custom paint these for me?

Are any of you guys good with mocking logos up on scale drawings of locos? If so, PM me and I'd like to get your help in sorting maybe three different ones along with a couple covered hoppers out for me. I'm not asking you to volunteer your time-we'll work something out. Thanks!

I really like what you did with these, especially how you adapted the CN green scheme! You've inspired me to come up with some of my own heritage liveries. Digitally, at least. I need more practice with painting multicolor schemes before I ruin paint a model with one.

Here's the first, and a little scenario to go with it: Since 2009, Norfolk Southern and Pan Am Railways jointly operate Pan Am Southern, which runs on the ex-Boston & Maine main line from Mechanicville, NY to Ayer, MA. What if Norfolk Southern decided to buy the Boston & Maine from PAR (if not all of PAR)? They'd need a new heritage loco, of course! This livery is based off of the one applied to GP9s and GP18s during Patrick McGinnis' ownership of the B&M. I'm working on a second hypothetical NS heritage SD70ACe of another PAR predecessor.

    Second in a series!

Penn Central is regarded as a symbol of the dark ages of American railroading, but NS saw fit to include them in their heritage program. So, if they bought out PAR, why not include the less-than-highly-regarded Guilford Rail System? In my little hypothetical scenario, the Pan Am Airways trademarks will be sold off after NS buys the company (plus PAR will likely soon paint one of their C40-8Ws in the blue dip, so no interpretation needed).

I didn't render it, but one unique feature of this livery is that it will have different lettering on each side. The original GRS scheme had the name of the operating division (Boston & Maine, Maine Central, Delaware & Hudson, or Springfield Terminal) spelled out on the long hood and only the road number on the cab. On the other side of the heritage engine, it will carry the revised lettering scheme that GRS started implementing in the late 90's/early 00's. Guilford Rail System will be spelled out on the long hood, while the reporting marks (NS in this case) will be placed above the road number on the cab.

Well heck I didn't realize there was such a place here to fantasize. Over the years I've done quite a few fantasy locos so I'll load this place up with some. :) First up is my favorite ones, dash 9s so they're pure fantasy. :) Also added a SD40 for good measure.

It's kind of funny you chose GE Dash 9's for your fantasy paint subject, because Caterpillar now owns Progress Rail and Progress Rail owns EMD. The very first NS SD70 DC to AC conversion wears the official Caterpillar yellow on the front of the locomotive as a tip of the hat to Progress Rail.

I had planned back when I modeled HO scale to make a South Massey Rail Services, a division of South Massey Marine Services. These were both fictional companies from a fictional town called South Massey. The South Massey Marine services had a couple of tugs (only one still survives as the Vac-U-Tug Kate Massey) and a container ship. The boats were actual RC models that I sailed in a pond/lake near my home in Virginia Beach. My rail division was mostly older but still good equipment such as a NW2 switcher and a couple of SD40-2s. I had the paint scheme done in black with a burgundy stripe going across the middle of the body. The numbers and "South Massey" lettering were done in gold. I never did get the money for the decals so my trains were just black and burgundy striped with no numbers. Oh I think I also had a former Wisconsin Central SD45 in the mix as well but that one was only painted black.

My entire layout was based on this city and it's services to the public. My favorite railroad is the Norfolk Southern, and I made sure there were NS power being borrowed, and my back story was the railroad served the small community and interchanged with NS and BNSF to move products to the east and west coasts. The city was somewhere on one of the great lakes and the container ship was moving containers from South Massey to Canada... Or so were my thoughts.

I will try to find the image I made of a SD40-2 in full livery, it's similar to the pictures above.

That spot light caboose looks like an old Tyco model. I had one in BN HO scale. Actually the Durango locos look like they are also the Tyco GP20's...

Yes. The spotlight caboose and the GP20s are Tyco. I mounted the shells on Mantua GP20 chassis. The other caboose, KC900 is an Athearn.

A Kansas Colorado GP20 spots a TBX RBL at a warehouse in western Kansas. This is TBX 82015... A boxcar made especially for TRAINBOARD.
If you would like to see this boxcar on your layout....message me.
