Okay, after some digging, I found the original flyer from when I bought these boxes. Still have not found anything on line for them though Here is the flyer:
Here are some shots of one of the boxes I have. I really like these boxes and if anyone finds them available before I do, please let me know, please!
I swear I saw maybe a year ago that these boxes were going to be done again but I just can not find where I saw that. I honestly think I am a curse to the storage box market. I really liked these when they came out. I have at least 16. Then they were gone. After these, Deluxe Innovations made storage boxes using the same format that their roadrailer sets came in. I was able to get my hands on maybe 10 of those before Deluxe quit making them. I also tried another style box but didn't really like them and that seller is gone now as well. I've thought about trying out some of the Kato storage boxes but they are a bit pricy for the amount of cars that they will hold. Guessing I could make some on my own if I could round up the materials. Cutting the foam and making the labels would probably be the two biggest challenges.
NOooooooooo, I need those Kato boxes!!!!!! Yes, I've heard a while back they were going to resurrect them but it never happened. And this was quite some time ago.
Hadn't intended to work on the layout this weekend but ended up doing just a little. Had to do some touch up paint on a propane tanker trailer so it did not get finished as I had planned if I made it down to the train room. I spent some time trying to figure out the parking lot for the chemical plant. Here is a test fit idea. Still not sold on it. I had been thinking about getting the Walthers North Island Refinery kit to either go behind the office or on the opposite side of the spur track but after looking at the dimensions posted, it won't fit in either place so now have to research more about what I might mix together here. I also wasn't really feeling so great (knee and my stomach hurt, no Covid) so I did a lot of just watching the trains run. I piddled at the work bench just enough that it ended up looking fairly organized and empty. Hopefully next weekend will be more productive.
Love the workbench. My only thought on the parking lot is the parking space markings in my mind seem to make the building look smaller or out of proportion to what is probably the true size of the building. It might be the perspective the photo was shot at or possibly it was shot with the camera on wide angle and that side of the photo appears larger than it is? Love the tanks and building and I've learned a lot from watching your build since I've been here. Never miss a post so thanks for taking the time to do them, Sumner
Hope you feel better soon! Your layout is looking fantastic and with the fascia it brings layout to life. Joe
Thank you Sumner! Some super kind words there. I consider my self in the single a or maybe double a model rr'ing league at best. Not up in the major leagues like a lot of the guys here. The parking spaces are a bit off. Perspective may make it off as well. The width is okay but they are one cell too long. Also when there are cars actually in the spaces, they don't look so off. These were really test prints to get a better idea of what might work.
You guys are funny! Mom bought this desk for me when I was a kid. It's nearing 50 years old probably and with all the nooks and drawers, it makes a great work bench. I used to have a sheet of glass on it but that got broken during our last move. I really should get a new one for it. The glass was cut just short enough that could slide it back and close the top to hide the mess which made the wife happy in the old house. Now that I am regulated to the dungeon, umm I mean basement, it's not an issue.
New test print for the parking lot at the chemical plant. Once trimmed, should work better than the previous one.
When you say "print", how? I'm pretty sure it's not inkjet or laser due to the dark media though I may be wrong.
