May 22, 2017...That's all I know, I cannot for the life of me remember where this is. Looking at my non-railroad pictures from the 21st and 23rd tells me it must be somewhere nearish to home in Northern California, but I have no idea beyond that. Lodi maybe?
From June 1982, D&H caboose 35708 in service at Taylor, PA. This series was created during WW-II, adding steel underframes and ends to ancient wooden boxcars. A stencil on the side reads BLT 10-42.
I couldn't go much more than a couple of weeks without without a Berkshire fix, so this week's photo is from the same 1225 trip as the watering photo from a few weeks ago. This one was shot on the way home from Grayling rolling through a swampy area on ex MC/NYC trackage near St. Helen's, MI. Daylight was growing short as I caught the big berk lighted by the sinking sun.
