Hey Everybody! We are happy to announce that the National N Scale Convention for 2021 will be held in Reno/Sparks Nevada. All details are available at http://www.nationalnscaleconvention.com/ Tours are anticipated at the Portola Western Pacific Museum, The Nevada State Railroad Museum, and the Virgnia and Truckee Railroad among others. Layouts are being managed by Ntrak and Freemo-N, Ttrak, One Track, Bendtrack, Ttrak and any other format of N are encouraged to display. There were a number of questions about returning to Nashville, and we are working on it, but the hotel was already contracted for 2021, so we are trying for a return shortly. Because Nashville was wiped out by the plague, 2021 is still the 28th convention. We hope to see you there! Chairman George N Scale Enthusiast
We've got a pretty big display area, so a big Freemo-N layout shouldn't be a problem. The hotel is very nice, so an easy fit.
George, thank you and the team for helping to set this up. If it weren't for COVID-19, I would be packing now!
Very tempting for me as well, not 100% certain what my schedule is going to be like next summer yet but a big maybe!
I will certainly plan to attend with my FreeMoN modules. We should be able to get quite a few of us from the Silicon Valley and Sacramento groups, although we will also be in the final throes for the NTS.
Looks good as the National train show is in Santa Clara 2 weeks later and week would have been even better, But does make the 3 week 5000 mile trip almost worth making rich
Is there going to be an opportunity for non-vendor sales such as a swap meet tables, room sales, or both?
That's for sure! At least heading up and over on 80 you can make a stop in Sacramento / Roseville and maybe catch a glimpse at some trains. For me it would be ~5hr drive from just north of Yosemite to Reno via 108->395 or 49->50. The trip to the bay area for the NTS though isn't nearly as bad, it's only a little over two hours away. Current plans will be to try and make it to both events and to bring along a few projects to those that are interested, the biggest being ESP32 CS and a close second by the booster that I will have designed by then.
They have always had room sales, plus now a two sales room open to the public. rich www.rslaserkits.com
I would drive through Phoenix, then nothing until Vegas, then up 6 through nothing to Reno.... And the route truly goes through Nothing. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nothing,_Arizona
