How was it accessed by the levermen? Was there a private company road?

I'd prefer a cab-ride, locomotive that is, to and from work! :)

Heard that report about MG tower, as well.
Wonder if NS could make a few bucks by selling the old bricks to Pennsy fans?
Anyone want to build a patio out of the remains of MG tower?

Entering "Sugar Run Rd, Duncansville, Pennsylvania" into google maps should take you the approximate location of the entrance to the access road off Sugar Run Rd.
Not indicated on the google map is a left-hand turn about mid-way along the road that goes up to the tracks and the tower.
Recent topo maps on the Historic Aerials site show that road more clearly.

My post of 04/25/2020 showed the 5131 in Family Lines paint. I just found two other BQ-23-7 slides after renumbering and in CSX paint. [3009 in Montgomery, AL 05/1989 and 3003 in Cayce SC 07/1992]

What did the crews think of these oddities?

They hated them, only because they arrived during the time when cabooses were being eliminated and they didn't want to support a change that would result in job losses for their Brothers. Eventually crews refused to run them and the railroad agreed to use them only in trailing service. I'm not certain, but I think all of the BQ23-7s were eventually scrapped without being sold to another railroad.

Grey Ghosts! Nice, cannot say I heard that one before, but I bagged a couple once. Chugwater, WY,of all places! It was northbound toward Laurel, MT with a military train in 2003/2004:

685 is still an original ghost in your shots - and 2004 makes her one of the very last in that scheme. The Grey was the intermediary between the white and the Belle. Nice catch.

Frisco 2-10-0 1630 at the Illinois Railway Museum at Union in October 1990. She's been an outstanding locomotive in both looks and performance at the museum for many years.

A far more depressing site in August 1990 in Montgomery, AL was this former Frisco NW-2 which served on the Dixie River Railroad. Her number 413 is former BN, her Frisco number was 253.

The Illinois Railway Museum offers a fine collection of equipment, including colorful IT 1605. She's operational and I think is an original IT unit. [October 1990]

Here's 682, a very dirty ghost who also was home ported in Gulfport back in '08.

    "Sucker Hole Denied"
Five minutes before this grain load showed up, there was great, low angle sun on the trestle, perfect for a westbound. Alas, when the train rolled into view, the sun hid again behind the clouds. Ya win some, ya lose some...
