Greetings everyone and welcome to a special, Gateway to the summer, Memorial Day long weekend! Let's get started.

Saturday: Back to work, in what I am hoping will be a busy day at the dealership.

Sunday: It is supposed to be summer like with sun and a high of 84. I really hope to get my garden planted as the weather has held this off for over a month. Any model railroading will be done after the sun goes down but I do not have high hopes for that.

Memorial Day: Being in the car business, I'll be working so no other plans other than that.

So how about you? What do you have planned for the long weekend? Let us know. I know some of you may get tired of me saying it every year, but I'm unapologetic when it comes to a time to remember and reflect. Remember the reason for the holiday. It's not for deep discounts on furniture and yes, ever cars. Not just about cook outs and parties but for remembering those who paid the ultimate sacrifice to allow us the freedom's we sometimes take for granted. That said, we'll assemble on Tuesday the 26th to see how the weekend was. Until then, stay happy, safe and healthy and...

    HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!
    &
    HIGH GREENS!

Saturday: (Afternoon) We are heading down the street to my sister's house (She lives 4 doors down) for my niece's Birthday.

Sunday and Monday - we will have our Granddaughter -- so, who knows. And -- that's OK by me.

Y'all have an awesome and very safe weekend!! HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY

Yep. Extra long weekend. I have taken off starting today through Tuesday. I have no specific project, but like Jim, I have been tasked w/ assisting Mrs. Kitbash with prepping the herb garden for the summer. That will be about a 3 hour task Sunday. There will also be some BBQ ribs smoked on the Big Green Egg, but not sure what day. This morning I did get hamstrung into doing some work things, but I have just finished that, so I'm good to go.

This long weekend I hope to spend time on some scenery things; maybe also ballasting and dressing up the track to the bridge I put in last weekend, working some on the HW Meyers Building; and taking care of some thissa and thatta sitting on my workbench, and most of all, running some trains!

Have a safe Memorial Day weekend all!

I'm like SP-Wolf, I don't know what is going to happen. I do have to work on Sat. Sun. is an off day and I'll find some modeling to do even though some needed supplies have yet to arrive. And of course there is always the house chores and weekly meal preps.
The crazy thing is that I don't know if I'm working on Monday. I forgot that it was a holiday coming up and didn't check the schedule.

    Enjoy the weekend.
Be thoughtful, thankful and remember those that have served for our freedom.

Retired, so length of the weekend don't matter but I have plans to install the pit tracks in my roundhouse, build the shop roof, install 4 mini speakers and the light effects, build the roundhouse doors, weather the interior, and add base scenery to my Lester module.

Friday night is BBQ Beers night with the boys, Saturday morning is Pontoon Life at Lucky Peak. Last May F&G planted 501,468 6"or larger Kokanee, and 42,983 Rainbow's greater than 6" and they are lots reports of big ones being pulled out this week, since the boat ramps opened last Saturday. This reservoir is well-know for quality Kokanee and Rainbow Trout fishing.

Last night I cut the roof parts for the machine shop annex on my roundhouse, then laid plaster cloth, ground foam, and static grass. It's dry this morning, so I am going to start on the roof shingles:

With the arrival of two LH #7 turnouts from Maryland yesterday (And 3 more scheduled to arrive today) I'm planning to finish track laying and wiring. I also have some yard work to do (we are in weekly mowing because of showers mode down here on the coast). I also have a couple of scrap wood challenge wood working projects to think about, and maybe grilling. We get two hours and 59 minutes early release today, so my weekend is fast approaching.

A day to remember those who have given all for our country. This is usually a special weekend for us but alas, even this weekend will be affecting by the Covid-19 mess. The cemetery where our scout troop normally puts out flags on veterans graves has asked us not to this year to ensure there are no pandemic related issues. I understand but after paying this tribute every Memorial Day weekend for the past 8 years, this year will seem a bit empty.

With that said, really don't have any modelling plans. What I am really lacking is motivation. There are a few honey do's I may dig into but then again, I may spend a lot of time napping.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and at least takes a few minutes to reflect.

I have a lot to do.

Great weekend to work on my WWII module.

I should be able to get the weathering done on the squadron building.

I need to work on the WP depot for the module as well. The squadron building has given me a few ideas to help get this one finished

I need to finish typing up a clinic I will be giving next month on painting back drops.

I started to type up another clinic on scratch building. That will be finished when I finish the WWII module.

I might even be able to start the next scratch build, I have a hangar, an ops building, water tank, and possibly a guard shack to build.

Hoping to decide on the next module kit I should order. Have a fairly good idea in mind now, for how I want to proceed. Also gathered materials to make a couple of (HOn30) diesel spark arrestors. No prototype. These will simulate home grown "shop built" modifications.

Mr. Wiggin, I will never get tired of your reminders. Never. Also, I model the GM&O in Murphysboro, Illinois. This was home to General John A. Logan, a Union officer during the Civil War. After the war, Congressman Logan introduced a bill to designate a national holiday to honor those who fell serving their country. I am proud to have become aware of this contribution as I researched the location of my model railroad. To all, have a healthy, happy, and safe holiday. (y)

I started to wire up the yard today, I soldered all of the feeders and ran the main bus. I only got one set of tracks wired (the main) before I ran out of connectors.

Depending on the weather I may be doing some work outside or not.

I pulled out four old MDC/Roundhouse kits. Two are 40 foot wood reefers, one 40 foot wood boxcar, and one Northeast caboose. They are metal bases. They had a good amount of flash on them which I cleaned up. I plan to paint them black. I hope to assemble them and maybe weather them.

The plan for today is to move this over to the layout and start final testing of the PCB and CS code for v1.5.0:

I'm also planning on wrapping up PCB v1.2 so I can send it off for manufacturing so I can release the ESP32 CS PCB kits to the masses :)

No modeling this weekend, again. Working my way back from the recent health scare. It looks to be under control, but it's been a wake up call after 35 years of distance running and cycling. I've resumed cycling at a slower pace, and my wife and I have been foregoing the running for long walks for the time being. I feel better during physical activity so I'd rather be up and around and out of the basement for the time being. And now that the weather is finally cooperating, why not? I hope you all have a good weekend and stay safe. Reach out to your family and friends, even if you can't visit them. Stay safe...

There aren’t many photos of the prototype but I do have a few. Here is what I have done so far on the model. Still needs a couple doors, window trim, and the roof. [IMG]
