It was a rainy day today, so I started on the diesel servicing tower. I'm about half way done, here is it's progress:

I'd say you nailed it, what do you use for the pipe? a brass tube?

Yes, it's 0.7mm for the fuel hoses and 1.0mm for the sand hose. The tube I used is called EDM Electrode tubes, and you can buy 100 fifteen inch long tubes for $16, OR you can buy 18 piece twelve inch tube assortment for $20.

The less than 1mm diameter tube bends easily, and can represent all kinds of pipes and stuff, and the larger tube assortment cuts with either a hacksaw, dremel, or tubing cutter, and is good for representing tanks, smokestacks, and other stuff. The larger stuff don't bend.

As with everything I do these days, I had to rebuild the diesel sanding and fuel tower again. I just couldn't get it right till the third time:

And here it is with a coat of Floquil Roof Brown:

Now the module is finally starting to catch the flavor i was looking for, and hopefully recognizable as Lester WA:

Ray, the tower looks great and the last photo of the engine roundhouse, turntable, depot and tower look well together. I enjoy seeing your progress and look forward to your next post.

You still got that bashed marklin 2-6-0 bumblebee you turned into a NP years ago to fill a stall in that roundhouse? In fact I think you bashed a mike and a pacific too if memory serves me correct?

Yes I still have all of them. Maybe some have bad decoders, but all can be fixed.

That’s gonna make the roundhouse look even sweeter with that mixed power in there!

Today I was working on my "was going to be a train shed, but now is my daughters bedroom", and framed an entrance door, to replace the shed barn doors. While doing that I sprayed some Great Stuff minimal expanding foam on the module. Just minutes ago the smoker finished smoking a Tri-Tip, and while it was smoking I carved the terrain out of the hardened Great Stuff. I also painted the detail on the servicing tower. Keeping the ball rolling:

So what happens next is I apply plaster cloth over the foam, spray dyed water over the plaster cloth and rub it in with fingers. Next I apply matte medium and sprinkle ground foam, then take the static grass applicator to it.

Had some rainy day time today so I got the pit rails installed, floor weathered, speakers installed, trash burn barrel with a couple hobos warming up, and the roof on the machine shop annex:

    1.jpg

And I made all the roundhouse stall doors out of 3 layers of paper, with the center piece having engraved board slats and a piece of window glazing sandwiched in the center. Installed the doors all in the opened position:
