Good morning from cloudy and cold Northeast Ohio! Got some cars done this week: Branchline 40' AAR Boxcar Kit with 7' Door, removed the rivits as the prototype was a welded side car, added A-line Sill Steps instead of the plastic ones. Car was painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and lettered with Smokebox Graphics decals. Car was used in general service on the Ann Arbor. Tangent Bethlehem Steel built gondola kit, painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar red and lettered with mostly Champ Decals, and some others from various decal sets I had in stock. Car was originally built for the Central Railroad of Pennsylvania in 1944 and was purchase along with 699 others by the Wabash in 1962. This car was assigned to the DT&I at Flat Rock, MI and was probably in auto frame or coil steel service. 3 Athearn GP7's with a mixed freight running on the Strongsville Club layout last year. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski
Good morning from Northern California. It's the 1970's on the layout right now and 3 different Western Pacific locomotives are moving an east bound freight through the Palisade Canyon.
I have always wanted a TTG Challenger like this.............................. Actually I have a KEY Imports, made by Nakimura, that I purchased used about 10 years ago. this version was released in 1985 and it ran flawlessly as a dc analog loco. I got a wild hair to convert to dcc with sound. Oh boy, eeeeevery short possible showed up. I got it running again, runs well too so I have started my TTG conversion. Don't know how much I will get to do tomorrow but I can wait now. This being one piece brass meant I had to hand mask. I used liquid mask as well as tape. There are a couple of the requisite touch ups. Next mask off for dark gray stripe and the decals. I am happy with results so far. BTW, I do have smoke lifters to apply. The red showing on bottom of boiler is a clothespin. Yes, I need to remove masking from the firebox. Have a safe, sane Sunday and don't forget Mom and stay well, Carl
How about some East Coast Pictures? There are no Victorian houses without a small Edgar Allan Poe feeling. We tried to catch that special atmosphere.......... ....and here he comes ..... THE RAVEN ...a Z-scale story! Have a nice Sunday, Sven
