Hi all, currently on my workbench is this old ConCor kit that I have had for ages and ages.

I broke out the parts, removed them from the spurs, cleaned them up, and test fitted them.

Now comes the point of painting them. The only grey I have in house is dark like the base sections. Based on what I have seen out and about and also on line, most parts of these sub stations seem to be either all light grey of a combination of light grey and galvanized metal colors. Here's an example shot. (not my photo)

So, if I were able (or send someone) to one of the big box stores, what rattle can color(s) would you all recommend for something like this?

well if you want a new look a light mint green would work. Faded something in a cream or sand with a very subtle green tint.

Rustoleum gray automotive primer? I used it recently and it kind of looks like the gray in your picture. Plus it's flat so no Dull coat needed.

It could be this is a regional thing. Where I live, these facilities have always been either medium to light grey and galvanized. Never seen a green one. This is one of the benefits of prototype modeling. You don't need to fret over theses sort of things, just use the appropriate color for the time and area modeled.

Go to the big box store (Home Depot, Lowes, etc.) website and search for spray paint.
Select gray and then select the ones for use on plastic and that are in stock at your local store.
That will narrow down the options and you can pick the product with the shade of gray that seems most appropriate to you.
Then you can tell the person going to the store exactly which item to buy.

Easy now, that solution is just way too simple. :D JK. Actually that is probably the plan, I was just kind of hoping someone might actually know the color already and that would shorten the search. :)

I do appreciate ll the suggestions and comments so far. You all are a great resource. (y)

Thanks MP333. I was able to get a friend to pick up a can of a light gray at Lowes over the weekend. It looks like it could pass for that light aircraft gray color. The first coat was applied late yesterday so we shall see how it goes.

I live between him and Lowes so he put it on the front porch for me on his way home so it passed the wife's quarantine process.
