unable to operate lighting Lenz Standard plus V2 decoder

Using a DCC++ controller and JMRI software.



I can read the decoder on the programming track and I can program the decoder on the program track no issues I have set up speed tables and all the motor functions no problem. However, I just can't seem to get the lighting to work. I have wired the LEDs to the correct outputs from the decoder. I have a problem with the actual meanings of the options in the lighting control page as I can't find "an älways on" option that would operate the forward a rear facing headlights.



An idiots guide to programming would be appreciated! if anyone can oblige?

You need to set your white & yellow wire also to their opposite directions. If you use DecoderPro, in the function map, set your white wire also to reverse and the yellow wire also to forward. (the first 2 blocks for forward and reverse F0 will now have a tick mark in it.) Both will now be on in both directions.

 

Thanks Pieter, unfortunately that has made no difference. Headlights do not work and neither do the cab lights. I have not yet been able to get any lighting working. Are there any other settings in decoder pro I should be looking at? I am using JMRI and a Lenz Standard Plus V2 decoder.

 

On most decoders the head light are on white and yellow and comes on (depending direction of travel) when you press F0 on your throttle. Factory setting. If you have connected the head lights manually (soldering), could be wiring is the wrong way around or wrong/ no resistor. Or do factory reset and see first if F0 works. Sometimes, despite being careful, the decoder does its own thing and a reset is the only thing to get it right again. Just check my Gold + and same setting as all the other decoders. Lenz like to use a slightly different naming convention, but otherwise same as everybody else.

 

It was the NEM socket. I have replaced the socket with a new one on the homebrew breakout board I fitted and everything is now working as expected. Thank you for your assistance. I wasn't sure how the software was supposed to operate which slowed me down a bit!
