    Hi Jeff
Are you going to Altenbeken this year? I am considering to go, using my car I guess. Not 100% sure yet if I go, but it would be nice to meet during the weekend.

    I just looked it up:

    Cancellation 8th International Spur-Z-Weekend Altenbeken
Posted by Axel Hempelmann » Thu 12. Mar 2020, 17:06

    Dear friends of Z gauge!

Due to the current development and the daily changing framework conditions, the association Z-Freunde International eV is forced to host the 8th International Spur-Z-Weekend in Altenbeken, which is scheduled for March 28th and 29th. It was planned to cancel in 2020.

The authority responsible for the approval gave us an urgent recommendation today. In the event that the event is nevertheless planned by us, the requirements that have now been imposed are so extensive that we could not meet them on a purely personal level. More stringent conditions would probably be expected in the next few days.

We hope that in the current situation, both exhibitors and visitors understand this decision.

On behalf of the board, I would like to thank everyone who supported us in preparing the Z weekend! There will still be a lot of work to be done for us in the coming days, which is why we want to apologize for the possibly longer response times for inquiries.

If a way is found to find a replacement date before the scheduled meeting in 2022, we will publish it in good time.

    Best wishes

    Axel Hempelmann

Lieber Gott, das sind dann 400 Euro in der Pfanne!
So, I've been learning German to no purpose at all,
since I missed my flight from Edinburgh to Dortmund in 2018!!
Back to the layout then until 2022

All shows and large gatherings are canceled in Germany, also in many regions schools are closed.

Polish gouverment took radical actions and decisions.
All schools and universities were closed on last Wednesday. Large gatherings were cancelled the same day.
On Friday decisions to close border lines and cancell international flights were taken. Our citizens can go back but they will have insolation period of 2 weeks. Shapping malls are generally closed with exception of shops selling food, medicines and hygienic stuff. All cinemas, theaters, restaurants and bars are closed but they can sell "take away".
We have traditional qouverment but they decided that all gatherings of 50 persons + are forbidden. That means that there will be no open masses in the churches - that is really politically radical decision.
Friday was a day in which some articles were missing in the shops but this was temporary situation. Shops were well equipped with all the stuff yesterday.
We are fastly adopting to new situation. One can notice that we increased men to men physical distances in shops, petrol stations, there are disinfection articles both at homes as well as in all public places. People reduced usage of cash - card payments and mobile payments are in use even more than previously.
Many companies are preparing or already swithed into home office - not as an option but as a new way of operation.

Hope it will prevent fast development of coronavirus but nobody knows how long it will take.

Thanks Juergen. Since I have not been to Intermodellbau (all of the years of business travel always left me weeks away), I will try for the August date, now that I am retired :)
