Welcome back everyone. I hope you are all doing okay while we go through this pandemic. After I sent the WMA thread up Monday morning, I went to work at the dealership and was promptly sent home after a meeting. I have been home since Monday. On a much more happy note, I just found out today is my 20th anniversary of being a member here at Trainboard. Time flies! Onward!

Saturday: One small benefit to the pandemic is I get a Saturday off again. I've also gotten a lot of model railroading done these past few days. Saturday is supposed to be warm so I may try to get the polyethylene on the CTC box and finish the electronics of the servo controllers.

Sunday: I had finished a project I started back in August, a program track with computer interface. I simply plug this into power and I can program locomotives on the work bench now instead of on the layout. I plan to program my new B&M GP38-2. I'm also hopping to use the computer to make up some waybills for my small fleet of freight cars on the B&M branch line.

So how about you? Are you keeping busy? Post what your working on and what you plan to continue during the weekend. We'll come back on Monday the 30th to see what you got accomplished. Until then, have a good weekend, please be safe and as always...

    High Greens!

Well - I hope to get motivated, this weekend.

Both days -- paint my friend's E8's (Again - LOL) and continue work on my mystery project (To be unvailed - soon).

Y'all stay safe and healthy -- this bug is getting real nasty

Looking forward to another weekend of getting to stay home. I had ordered some items for the layout last week and they arrived earlier this week and went through quarantine. They have now been released so I plan on putting as much of this stuff as I can to good use over the weekend Hope everyone has a good weekend. Take it easy and stay safe.

I have been away from TB and other forums for a while. Hope to be a little more active soon.

Anyhow, I still have a long way to go with getting the basement ready for layout construction, and the honey-do list has several high-priority items on it for the next 6 months. I am able to accomplish some layout-related work as time permits. Just earlier this week, I spent nearly 2 hours ripping old pieces of plywood stashed away in the garage down into 3-1/2" strips to be used for benchwork. I've also been attaching 2x3's to the basement walls with Tap-Cons to affix the layout to. The previous homeowner upgraded the main level of the house with newer grounded wiring and outlets, but the entire basement is older non-grounded outlets and in some cases ground wires cut off. So I am about half way done with rewiring the basement with ground fault outlets, brand new wiring, all new lighting and isolating the laundry room to it's own breaker (dryer on it's own 220 service), of course.

Anyhow, my goals for this weekend is to clean up the construction debris in the recreation area and start painting that room. I also want to continue attaching vertical boards in the layout space and continue on electrical work in that part of the basement, I need to add two switch boxes and two ceiling junction boxes for room light fixtures.

And if I'm a really good boy, maybe... juuuuust maybe...... I can assemble a section of benchwork and lay it aside.

I'm itching so bad to get my trains out I'm going to aim to get staging built first and get all of my cars out of their totes and on some rail again..... then start on the rest of the layout.

i need to see if I can affix the remaining sheet of foam to the remaining section of benchwork with something I have in hand - as we are really focused on not breaking isolation unless necessary. Unfortunately gluing the first section of foam to the first section of benchwork used an entire tube of adhesive. (n)

Beyond that I have a couple of videos I need to finish editing for my youtube channel, a messy workbench to keep working on, and projects projects projects.

Like the rest of you I am trying to work with what I have on hand to avoid going out. My wife and I went for 2 full weeks without going out at all. Then a couple days ago we ventured out to the garden section at Lowes first thing in the morning suited up with all the PPE to get everything we needed to have a great vegetable garden this summer. Then at 6:00am this morning I went to our local Safeway grocery store for a few things and except for the plexiglass shields in front of the cashiers and it being busier than I have ever seen it at that time of day things seemed close to normal, they even had toilet paper.

My model railroad related projects this weekend are as follows:

    • A shelf at the end of the row of cabinets above the future Carlin section of the layout. This will be for my clock / radio which has been sitting on the floor and for my FRS 2-way radios and their charger that are currently on the work bench. These are primarily for my CERT group but are compatible with what my Ntrak group uses they get used at show as well. This will be another small step in cleaning up and better organizing my layout room. This shelf will also support the end lighting valance and I may get that installed as well.
    • I am working on tail lights for my Amtrak Superliner train. I've got the LED's in place so need to work on getting the power circuit working the way I want with a super capacitor.

The full automatic operation of the staging yard end loops from last weekend did get finished so I can actually let a train run while I am doing these other projects. So everyone be careful and enjoy life as best you can this weekend and I'll be back Monday with some photos to share hopefully.

I came home Monday at the normal time and started working from home Tuesday AM. I have a good set-up here and good internet speed. The problem is interaction w/ my crew. I have a team of 4 working under me. Trying to keep them remotely on task is a challenge, but it is working out. They're a good group. Mrs. Kitbash said I am working harder here during the day than I would at the office.

Soooooo... tomorrow I am really looking forward to doing some modeling. I have no clue what it will be, but I do NOT intend on coming into the home office for a couple of days. We'll find out Monday!

I plan to work on module 05 with the Frisco Arkansas River Bridge project by installing scenery and get the river ready for water. Hopefully I can pour the water sometime Sunday afternoon. Module 05 is one of eleven for my Boston Mountains Sub Division layout. The bridge is between Ft Smith and Van Buren Arkansas and is a major landmark on Frisco's Central Division that ran from Monett Missouri and Paris Texas.
