Have you covered the actual layout with a bit of painters sheeting? Taped to the walls and sloped to the floor or buckets can help direct the drippage where it is less damaging?
I am hoping that by lowering the front left corner of the RV back to the way it was will be sufficient. There really isnt much in that corner inside that can get ruined if water comes in...which I am hoping it doesnt. It just a waiting game now.
Nah...The trailer roof joist where made from 2x2 wood. When I gutted it and bulit the original THERR...the snow weight collasped the roof down onto the layout! THERR RV roof joists are 2x2 tubular steel...they hold the weight fine. 2 feet of snow only deflects the roof 1/8 inch It just looks like the roof seams on THERR RV need some sealing attention this summer
A quick update: We got about 6 inches of wet snow. Its melting pretty quick. I have been going out to the RV about every 2 hours to check for leaks. So far....nothing ! <fingers crossed>. The snow is sliding off the front of the RV. Water is running off the roof at the front left side. I still have to get out there and do something with the wet carpet. This snow melt should be a good indicator of how leaks will be with rain later this summer.
Well we are all in suspense waiting for the latest report on the RV. Even more suspense at the thought of George holding his breathe that long.
Dry now. It doesnt look like anythjing...other then a wall wart was damaged. Unfortunately the wall wart is the new one for the new yard lights... Ran all the fans I could get ahold of for 48 hours straight in there. Its warming up pretty good here this coming week. Will go out and do a final assessment. I may have just dodged a bullet
Had to fix some led problems... My son came by for Memorial Day weekend. I utilized him...again...to do some soldering that I couldnt get to ( bad eyesight). There is a lot going on in this picture. We fixed a few yard lights. I find that 'liquid electrical tape' really DOESNT work to hold leds upright at the end of a vertical 1/8 inch brass tube. We redid a few using super glue to hold the led to the tip of the tube. Time will tell if this works better. Also in the pic you can see a 'load lock' holding the panel that the rope lights are attached to back up to the ceiling after reglueing. For some reason this panel warpped. None of the others did...grrrrrrrrrr. The panels where originally stuck to the ceiling and wall at a 45 degree angle with latex caulk. It held for 8+ years before it decided to give up in this section. We reattached the panel to the ceiling with 'Gorilla Glue'. Gorilla glue expands and the hope is it will fill in and hold the panel to the ceilng better.. Next... You can see the load lock holding the panel tight against the cieling while the glue sets and dries... You can also see where my son had to solder jumpers across the led rope light 'sections'. I am really disappointed with these rope lights. The discription when I bought them indicated it was a continuous 50' string of lights !! Such is NOT the case. The led rope lights are 3 foot sections soldered together end to end !! THERR RV goes thru some pretty drastic temp changes season to season. The rope lights expand and contract constantly. It ends up breaking their overlapping soldering job at the joints ! My son soldered small wire jumpers across the connections at the ends of each section. This should stop the breaking of the solder spots and light sections going out ! The MOW guys are tired of working on fixing things toady. Time to run some trains.
Franklin or Conklin makes an RV roof coating you may want to invest in. Looks like it's time coat or re-coat the roof. White works nice to reflect heat.
Rick my friend...i hope pictures speak a thousand words... I climbed up the ladder to take these pics. THE WIFE wanted to kill me if i didnt fall and kill myself !!! This is an overall look at the front of the roof. The roof itself is one continous 8' x 25' sheet of 1/4" fiberglass ! No seams to leek. I marked everything in that front 4 foot area...and areas of possible leaks.. You can see in the pic above and this pic below the buildup of sealing attempts someone had done since 1985...causing a 'dam' effect at the front edge of the roof !!! All this is like taking a cookie sheet with 1/2 inch sides and placing it on a flat surface and slowly pouring water into it. The short sides will cause the water to pool in the cookie sheet...until it runs over the edge. Just like all that sealant is doing on THERR RV roof.. Sooner than later pooling water on the roof WILL find its way through all this mess and make its way inside THER RV I talked to my son while he was here for Memeorial Day weekend and he said the next time he gets 4 days off in a row he will come by and he and I will take the stupid shelf brackets off the roof...scrape all that mess of edge sealant stuff off and reseal the edges with a good one coat sealant. This should hopefully stop all the leaks

Like having to be in formation by 1030 on the flight deck while in 90°+ Virginia heat waiting for the CO to talk to us... Just to find out at 1230 that he went to chow first and now that the chow hall is closed we don't get to eat! Oh the memories of the USN.
