3-20-2020. Three 20's. Interesting. Well it's Friday no matter what and it's time for us to gather around and talk about our plans in the workshop.

I'll be cleaning and re-arranging the upstairs common room and turning it into an office for Angela. As of yesterday, all non warehouse employees of Horizon Hobby are working from home. Thankfully we live in a world where this is possible. On a side note, should you need to contact Horizon for any reason, please be patient as they are doing everything they can despite the set backs and troubles of working remotely.

So how about you? What do you have planned? Let us know. We'll assemble once again on Monday the 23rd to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay healthy and safe and...

    High Greens!

Greetings and Happy Friday. I'm in Wake County, NC and fully expect a "shelter in place" order. Fortunately, my home office is already set up for remote work. I'll just have to spend a little time converting it from a "remote office" to a semi-permanent office.

This weekend I plan on diving in and taking some previous weekend tasks to nearer completion. That will include some scenery work I have on-going, bridgework, and car building.

Everyone take care and protect themselves. In the weeks ahead (or months), my intention is to ride out the storm with some modeling while "hunkered" down. Handed lemons?... make some lemonade.

    Well -- heck, I don't know.
Getting word that California is on lock down.
I'm already working from home. But, if the state is shelter in place. --- Waiting for word from my corporate folks.

    I'll work on the E8's -- perhaps.

    Ya'll stay safe and healthy,
    Wolf

Definitely will spend some time working on the layout. No shelter in place orders yet here in my area but we are still treating it that way. Right now, I am only leaving the house to go to the office and back. Since I don't have to go in on the weekends and the wife won't be dragging me out to go shopping or out to eat, I should get to catch up on a few honey dos around the house and have more layout/hobby time. Nothing specific in mind to work on but there is plenty to do so it will be one of those head down and see what inspires me.

Hope you all have a great weekend and stay well.

Well after the earthquake Wednesday morning I had to wonder what else. So I will leave that wondering to someone else. The parts I ordered Sunday have arrived. I can now build the structure that I drew the plans for Sunday and continue work on the depot. I hope to get the roof on the depot here soon. I may have to build the roof in place after I glue the structure down similar to what I did with the saloon on the tumbleweed module. I also need to buy some blue latex paint Sono can paint up a piece of mesonite for a background.

Working from home with the kids in online school. Making slow progress on workbench organization activities, including making a paint rack from offcuts and scraps. My plan is to get the shelves installed over the weekend and paint the thing. Status as of yesterday when I did a spacing and capacity check:

I hope to do some more weathering. I got a new airbrush which I am anxious to try out.

    Good morning all,

My area has been in the "shelter in place" status for about a week already. My wife and I were effectively doing that already for a week before that. We are both retired so don't have to go out if we don't want too.

This weekend I plan to work on a number of layout electrical / electronics projects.

    • I am changing the LED lighting over the future Carlin section of the layout from small flat panels to LED bulbs.
    • The LED panels that will be removed will then be re-installed under the Carlin section to light the staging yard.
    • I have been experimenting with some inductive DCC occupancy detectors and if some small blank PC boards that I ordered arrive I will be working on some circuits to automate the reverse loops in my staging yards.
So everyone try your best to stay healthy and enjoy this great hobby.
