I purchased an N scale loco without the shell - see photos below. I was told it is Kato.

Does anyone know what model loco this could be? I checked with Kato and they said the number on the frame is used by their factory to identify bulk parts, many of which are used generically between multiple types of models.

I also cannot see any markings on the decoder/sound card for manufacturer...

    Thank you for your help.

Appears to have sound installed? If so, that could help narrow things down, slightly. Manually done, to an older frame.

Wow, I clearly made the right decision to join this forum with all the expertise shown here! Thank you for everyone's help and quick response.

Are those standard wheel pickup strips for the SD frames - it is missing a pickup strip on the one side. The motor runs - I tested across the top frame contacts.

Kato USA lists those contact strips as part No. 07-0578. However, they list those as sold out.
