The photo was taken in June of 2012 in Temple, Texas at the old Santa Fe depot. It is still there but a little worse for wear. My brother took this shot of it from the Amtrak Texas Chief a few weeks ago. They are restoring the brick platform area between it and the tracks in this photo. May years ago it was on display in front of the old MKT depot in Temple.

Great shots of those 'Flares! Love it! If you look closely at the nose of MRL 405, you'll note it's no stranger to mountain climbing. That blank plate on the nose means it once had MARS light installed, a clear indicator of D&RGW heritage. In 1965, it was built as D&RGW 3047 (GP35). Oh, man-this is awesome!!

Loved that area when we went back to Yellowstone! Stayed in Bozeman for the night, and checked out the area around the depot. Nice town!(y)

Looks like they went to the Mopac before the MRL, looking at the older paint scheme.
