I was getting carried away in Photoshop. It was a cold morning I think. But why is the grass so green?

Got a couple of cars completed this week!

First is one of a series of Penn Central Boxcars that I a modeling. The prototype was a Lot 136-B off the NYC that was a rebuild and stretch of a 40' PS1 Boxcar from Lot 842-B by the Beech Grove Shops, as these 400 cars were renumbered during the merger they were repainted even though the rebuild occured in 1967. The letter A means the car was restricted for clean loading items like flour or newsprint. This car was asssigned to Bufallo, NY for flour loading. I started out with a IMRC 50' Box, removed the side sill and made a new from Evergreen plastic to replicate the picture of the prototype, also lowered all the ladders and removed the roofwalk. Also since the car now had a 10' Door I removed the cast on door guides and made new ones out of Evergreen Plastic Strip. Car was painted with Floquil Penn Central Green and lettered with Microscale Decals from a couple of different PC and NYC sets.

Next car is a Tangent PS 4740CF Covered Hopper, painted with Scalecoat II UP Covered Hopper Gray and lettered with Herald King Decals. Car was delivered just prior to the BN Merger and stayed in Burlington Paint for quite a while in grain service in the plains states.

Not at all unusual. Happens here, every fall. Green grass and frost.

Here is a different style for posting pictures. Created by one of TB's recent returnees. Thanks for the memories!
This is quite an eclectic selection of power and rolling stock.

Here is another section of the layout that is more or less cleared off. Still needs some work as many of the trees have been downed on the hillside. Also a good amount of the shrubs, and bushes have become detached. I stood up the fences and righted the cows. Added a couple of vehicles. This was the last area of the layout I was working on when everything went south.

I am not happy with the weathering on the Sharknoses so I plan on doing some weathering to make them look better. Basically smoothing out and blending the weathering better.

Great pics this week everyone. Here we are getting the QA&P 747 a little closer to done. Just a lighting kit, some weathering, install the windows and wipers.

I finished building a Walthers arched truss bridge that is 14.25 inches long for the Arkansas River Bridge project on my N scale Frisco Boston Mountains Sub Division layout. There will be three bridges altogether and this one is the only one that doesn't require modifications. Two other bridges will be cut, the main span is a double track Tomix Arched truss bridge that is 22 inches long that will be modified to a single track. The last bridge is a Kato truss bridge that is 11.5 inches long and will be shortened to about 5 inches to blend in with the lift towers. Altogether the three bridges will have a 41.25 inch span.

Sorry for the two photos that are dark, I took all three photos at the same time and for some reason those two came out dark.
