Welcome back everyone. I hope you all had a great weekend and that you got a lot done.

Saturday: Busy day at the dealership but nothing of note. Spent dinner with a co-worker and Angela.

Sunday: Slept in then started my CTC panel project. I had purchased a thin, 1/8-inch plywood panel at Menards back in December and found that a metal straight edge and a utility knife worked the best for cutting the material. It was a slow process but I was able to get a good portion of it done. I hope to piece it together this week after work and have it ready for stain when the warmer weather comes.

So how about you? How did you do? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Friday the 21st to start the process all over again. Until then, have a great week, stay safe and as always...

    High Greens!

We had a wonderful weekend, with our granddaughter.

Saturday: We visited Travel Town - road the Choo choo. Checked out their exhibits. We then went over to the Los Angeles Zoo.

Sunday: Rested from Saturday. I worked a bit on my friends DL&W E8's.

Today: More of the same -- relaxing

Hope Y'all had a great weekend.

    Great and productive weekend-

Thursday I started out assembling a
Couple sound cards for the modules. Then I painted up the cavalry figures. After that I built a building.

Saturday after attending the local division meeting for the NMRA I sat down and worked on structures. I finished one and started another. Then I pulled out the four teepees I made and hit them with some starch.

Sunday I finished the structure started Saturday then started another. I also got the holes cut for the switch machine control rods and UP5 panels in both modules that I am working on.

I am right on schedule for having one module finished by Feb 29. I want to display it at the next NMRA meeting.

    PRECISELY what weekends are for.

Let's see, I did pretty much what I thought.

    1. Worked on my deck-bridge some more and started putting it together. It is ME group of single track decks that I am joining together for a double track, deck bridge. Gotta do what you gotta do when they are not commercially available. Started assembling some side-by-side decks. One of the 4 smaller decks going in "cracked" and I arranged to get another one from Raleigh's last brick and mortar store. Pick it up Wednesday.
    2. Vacuumed the train layout and the floor. Much needed.
    3. Tangent project. I knew it was coming Friday. Didn't know what I'd do, but knew it would be something. While cleaning the layout from the hidden siding and coal branch effort, I wondered what a loaded coal train would look like heading out of that turnout. So, I went to my workshop and "un-earthed" all my coal loads. Loaded up a coal drag and ran it. See the picture.

    Fun weekend.

Did get some work done on lights. Also worked a bit on the highway bridge and started on some additional storage tanks. Really should have gotten a lot more done.

"Landscaped" the river banks getting ready to pour gloss medium.

I'm not happy with how the coloring looks in photos. I photographed it with and without extra lighting. What do you all think of the colors? Realistic or too pale?

Here's with overhead lighting only (fluorescent LED), I think 5500K.

This one is taken with LED spot lighting.

I still have to finish detailing the near bank, and the hill in the background is also under construction. I raised it with Styrofoam blocks, I will add a coat of Sculptamold, outcroppings, then paint and detail it. Then I can finally move on to other parts of the layout. This section has been under construction for over five years. Retirement has given me the time and motivation to finally see progress.
