Absolutely fantastic news Joe! So happy for you both. Of course you still have to keep us updated on Cynthia's progress. Still praying for her recovery and for things to get back to normal.

    Cynthia Update,

We had a home nurse come by on Saturday and she was very impressed with how Cynthia took care of the trach. Another nurse is going to come by about noon tomorrow, she will be our regular nurse twice a week. The first nurse works weekends if Cynthia needs assistance.

We finally took down the Christmas tree last night, I left it up since Cynthia missed Christmas.

The home nurse came by today and will be back on Friday morning. We don't like her so we are going to ask for a different nurse, she was kind of brash.

I wasn't able to change the nurse because she is the only one trained for trech. I guess we will have to learn to like her.

That is not the best thing Joe but hopefully she will get better. We are still praying for Cynthia's continued recovery and thank you for keeping us up to date.

Seems to me she could be one to do some adjusting and maturing, too.

Ah, reminds me of a rude nurse who came to tend to my Uncle Ted. She's from a part of the world that doesn't see animals as pets...She came bustling up to him with a syringe whilst he was asleep in his bed, but his Maine Coon Cat was stood guard over him, and pulled a face at her that would've sent Satan packing. My Aunt said the nurse just shrieked , dropped the syringe and ran out the room!

Joe, Sorry to hear this, maybe the nurse was just having a bad day and future visits will be a little more pleasant. We continue to keep you and Cynthia in our thoughts and prayers.

    Week 1,

Cynthia is doing great and spends a lot of time without the need for oxygen. She is enjoying being home, healing quite nicely. A doctor's appointment will be later this month to change the tracheotomy device to a smaller size. This will be the first step to removing the trach completely, hopefully in three or four months.

Hi Joe, with Cynthia home and on the mend, have you put any more thought into how you are going to build the bridge? Hope all is well with you both.

We are doing great, Thank You for asking. Everything is pretty much back to normal.

I started working on the Walther's arched truss bridge kit yesterday evening. Will post photos soon. It is the only one of three bridges that doesn't have to be modified. The main span is a Tomix arched truss bridge that is 22 inches long. It a double track bridge and I will modify it to be a single track, already have the new cross braces needed on top completed.

The last bridge is a Kato steel truss that will be shortened to blend in with the main span towers used to lift the main span.

Joe, very happy that your and Cynthia's live are achieving a new normal. There'll be challenges, but love always wins.

I forget, are you modeling the Frisco bridge or the Cape Cod Canal bridge?
