    Day 39,

Cynthia and I are excited about her coming home but a friend just reminded me that Monday is a holiday. So I'm not sure if the medical supply company will be open. Real Bummer if Cynthia has to stay another day. She can't leave until we have the equipment.

Depends how tight Massachusetts is to adhering to MLK day. Here in Mississippi we honor him with respect, parades, and outings, In other words, make a big deal out of it. But businesses and schools continue as usual.

I pray that you find the same so Cynthia can go home and attempt to resume a normal life.

I think the supply company will be open but my mind has been checked and I'm just a crazy old man. Haha

Hope it's open because when Cynthia heard me say something about a holiday she cringed knowing that could add a day.

    Day 40,

Cynthia can't go home today because I have some paperwork to turn in so it will be tomorrow afternoon before she leaves the hospital. It took me all day to find out what was going on and found it about a hour ago. Talk about frustrating to be so close and nobody could tell me what was happening. Cynthia is mad because it took so long to find out what we needed.

40 days of hospitable food would piss of most of the human race.

I'm sure she is just as excited as you about getting out of there!

Cynthia was tube feed to day 34 so she has only put up with hospital food for six days going on seven. The medical supply company worked on her equipment today so we can get her home once they get the discharge papers.

    Day 41,

Today is the day of the release of Cynthia!!! I got the paperwork needed for this to happen and now we are looking for the doctor to come by to sign the release. Hope it won't be long before he comes by. We are ready to go and get this nightmare over with.

I spoke to soon, Cynthia has to spend one more day. They were changing the tracheotomy device and ran into a problem with the new one. It took two doctors and six nurses a hour to put in the new tracheotomy device. Because of this she will have to stay so they can monitor the situation. This is a nightmare and hopefully Cynthia will be able to go home tomorrow morning.

It snowed this morning at 2:00am in Tulsa, we got about one half inches and it lasted about two or three hours. Right now it's raining and cold, it's slowly melting the snow.

Hope you don't mind my asking- Will she be able to eventually be free of this device, altogether? :(
