    You are right. It just arrived and the tube is way larger than what I pictured after seeing it on the site, 9 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches:).

    I had lived in Germany for 5 years and one project was to replace a broken curtain rod bracket. I found matching ones at Toom, a German Home Depot-style store. I bought these, and the open end, with a bit of sturdy cloth wrapped around the end and glued with the 5" stick attached made a great track cleaner. Just squirt on a bit of 91% alcohol and run the object down the track. The spherical surface made it easier to keep centered on the rails. The width was just sufficient to do a single N scale track perfectly.

    I used a felt block like you get for the bottom of furniture so it don't scratch the wood floors
