I have a prodigy wireless unit Loc sound 4 and lok sound 5 decoders and on two of my engines I just programed I have to turn on f4 on the ls4 and f5 on the ls5 in order to get them to respond. None of my other units are having this issue just the two I recently programed. I have reprogrammed them with all the defaults and still have the issue when I try to run them on the track. They seem to work ok on the test track . thoe the ones I have not changed are all running fine on the layout did something change in the programming I don't know about>>>>>>

So you're saying you have to turn them on so that they respond?

My early LokSound decoders are the same way. It seems no two have the same sound-enabling F button. On my Trix GG1 it's F5, while on my brand new Rapido RS-18 it's F3...I think.

All my QSI and Soundtraxx decoders have F8 as the mute button.

Or...did you mean that unless you press those buttons the loco won't even move?

What files did you load into them? Or are you only trying to program via a throttle?

the Locomotive will only respond if F5 Or F4 IS on when i program the f8 function to mute when on. this started after the new update to the programer by esu. WHEN I UPDATED TO 5.0.9 OR 5.0.10. All my other locos with programming done with the older version 5.0.2 do not have that issue. But my loc5 canyt be programmed with the older version of the program i contacted ESU and i am waiting for a response but they dont know what is causing it . I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything both on the computer and the locomotive.
I loaded the SD70Ace for the Loc sound 4 on the Loc 4 decoder and the SD70ace for the Loc 5 on the loc5 decoder and doing it thru the ESU programmer and on a program track i have always used.

uninstall the latest version of LokProgrammer, and reinstall 5.0.8. You can even force a reload of the lower level firmware to the decoder. There have been more than enough quirks reported on 5.0.9 and 5.0.10 that this might be your best bet

so to narrow it down some more the problem seems to happen when I use the 4digit address 9372 I can use 9370 no issue or a two digit address but address 9372 and 1943 both cause the issue

latest update it seems this is effecting only my Prodigy wireless throttle the hard wire one works correctly no issues and again it is only with these two addresses all my other engines work fine

I would suspect something with the throttle, then.

If you have JMRI, would be interesting to see what DCC packets are being sent when you address the locos first from the wired, and then the wireless throttle
