Some really nice setups guys ! After my wife and I bought an RV in 2011 and were parking it in front of our detached garage, we were not parking the cars in it any more. So after I retired in 2013 I created a train room in the back half of it. It is aprox. 21 x 10 feet. Because the garage floor was in such bad shape, I built a raised floor so the room height is 7 feet, 6 inches. Plenty for a shorter guy like me. Train Room Entry Door - Dec 2019 by nscalestation posted Dec 11, 2019 at 2:46 PM The layout did not start until about a year after the room was finished. During that time I was installing cabinets and finalizing plans for the layout. I decided to go around the walls and keep the center of the room open as I belong to two different modular layouts and this gives me room to set up modules and work on them. Work bench, paint booth, train cabinets, computer, and module storage is under the layout. One of the more unusual features of my train room is that I made a small bump out in one corner for the helix. Train Room Helix - Dec 2019 by nscalestation posted Dec 11, 2019 at 2:50 PM
Mine is a shed in the backyard, 20' x 16', but still needs the insulation finished, sheetrock installed, the mini split heat exchanger installed, and the barn doors replaced with conventional doors. At least it has electricity: It has decent space inside, at least for me, being a Z Scale modeler: It's just a matter of getting out there to fix it up:
