I have this interface on my Athearn Genesis 2-8-2. A 9-pin female connector. Does ESU make an interface for this or will I need to hard wire?
Most likely not. On their webpage they have photos of all the variants of a particular decoder at the bottom of the page of that decoder. eg http://www.esu.eu/en/products/lokpilot/lokpilot-v40/
This is a 9-pin JST connector. TCS sells connectors for these, if you want to preserve the connection from the loco
Does anyone have experience with the ESU Loksound Next18 interface? Got these inadvertently. I bought 2 and need to know how to wire this to the engine. The adaptor available on ESU web site transitions from Next18 to a 6-pin plug leaving wires free for speakers. Is there a 6-pin female that transitions to wires for a hard wire application for motor and lights?
There are solder pads on the interface card, where you can solder wires, and then slice off the ribbon right next to the card. Gently take the adapter card off the decoder, first.
