Welcome back everyone. Based on Friday's response, we are certainly busy! Lets see how we all did. Saturday: Quick day at the dealership, then a quick run home and back to the dealership with Angela. I had forgotten that we had the annual Christmas Party at the dealership. It was a great time and the food was amazing. The owners certainly gave us a good time and were very generous. I'm very thankful for the owners of the dealership and how they treat their employees. Sunday: I finally got the Christmas train display finished and it came out great. So much easier to set up too. We then went on a short trek to get our beautiful Christmas tree and a quick run to my favorite hardware store. This year I'm back dating everything and decorating for a 1960's feel. Bubble lights are in full effect but our tree is real, not aluminum. With any luck we'll be fully decorated, trains included by this coming Thursday. So how about you? Did you get everything done you set out to accomplish? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Friday the 13th. Until then, have a great week, be safe and as always... High Greens!
I cleaned my mainline -- and ---- ran a couple of trains (For about an hour). It's been months. I also made some great progress on my F3 set. Ready for decals Hope Y'all had a great weekend!! Wolf
I made another NP type depot in Z Scale for my collection. It's a 3rd class single level combination depot:
Grandson, (10yo), and I: Printed, cut out and assembled 3 paper crude but N Scale accurate 'Double Stack Container Homes, (DSCH). These will be place holders till track is down. Meanwhile we will practice cutting out card stock. Successfully test printed the same 'DSCH' card stock to the black and white laser printer. In the process we learned that 40' N Scale feet is 3"s. That was something the grandson could wrap his head around so now we talk in terms of '40' / 3"s or portions thereof. So, my boxcar is 3"s or the building is 6"s which makes it 80' long etc. Note: I would post pics but they are not worthy of sharing. I used to shoe everything. I've a feeling it was tooo mucyh.
My plans for the weekend all ran longer than expected so it ended up being the layout time that was cut so no progress. but hey, there's always next weekend!
Does putting together a proof of concept paper tower in the past hour count as 'weekend"? Anyway I did. ☻ No windows, just a 6"X2"X2" with a top folded piece of paper.
Well, I did NOT get accomplished exactly what I didn't think I would. Spent all weekend doing the Christmas decoration thing. I am taking off 12 straight days over the Christmas/NY's calendar. Hopefully, about 5 or 6 of those days will be dedicated to the layout.
