Good morning, good evening, wherever you may be. Welcome back to another weekend. I hope my fellow American's had a great Thanksgiving. I myself enjoyed a great holiday celebration complete with fried turkey, stuffing and my first time with "greens." I maybe a Northerner but apparently I love southern food. Onward!

Saturday: Not only will I be working, but I'll be a bachelor as Angela and Jared go to her Father's for Thanksgiving part two. I'll enjoy something a bit local to the dealership then come home and relax.

Sunday: Since we did not eat until late yesterday, I was able to get a lot done on my new three rail O Christmas display. Thanks to youtube, I learned how to build a jig that allows me to cut a perfect radius on plywood. I cut the two curved ends and mounted most of the hardware I had available. Sunday I plan to sand and paint the "table" top with white primer and paint, and stain the Mid Century Modern legs. I think this display will look and work a lot better then the one I build two years ago. I hope to get a lot done on it this weekend as it is getting set up along with the tree, next weekend.

So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday, December 2nd to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, beware the Black Friday Rush! And as always...

    High Greens!

I plan to add more brush, sink the trees into the scenery further, and add whatever detail comes to mind to a small module. I may even start the next scenery on the sister module. If the weather clears up the outside Christmas lights are going up.

I have started fabricating some connector rods. I refer to these as the "G6" protocol since when they are installed with the track retainer "shoes" they look like the letter and the backward number (in a way :) ). I'll do eight or more for a start since they are used in pairs. then make the other components. then decide on what car to build. somewhere in the mix, I will start a tree as well. then maybe a building too.

I plan on painting this afternoon and tomorrow the skirt I finished up on the layout last weekend. Wednesday I took the day off as well. Used Wednesday and yesterday AM to pull LocoNet wire the rest of the way around the layout so I cut the DigiTrax UP-5's, a UR-91, and a UR-92 in before I start painting. Also positioned the rest of the throttle pockets yesterday so I could have those screw holes already set up before I paint.. Yesterday afternoon while waiting on the turkey to cook, I fired up the layout and tested each of the ports. I took the battery out of the DT400R throttle and hard plugged it into the system. The loco I had programmed in responded from all of the ports.

The skirt will be black. Never painted anything like this black before. We'll see how it goes. If I can finish painting today and tomorrow, I may start pulling the "common" wire around the layout to all of the UP-5's. Digitrax says 10 UP-5's on one common wire. I have 9 of them ready to go. The 2 UR panels I have will each have their own power supply. We'll see how it goes.

    Have good long weekend everyone!!

More of the same for me. Working on scenes on the layout. Maybe some work on some new shelves in the train room closet. Hopefully it will be a quiet and productive weekend.

Was going to spend Black Friday railfanning far away from shopping centers, but the weather was questionable, so I decided instead to make progress on an old pair of N Scale Life-Like FAs, cleaning and lubricating and hoping to add an M-T to the B-Unit and Unimates between the units.

My depot project is on hold. I need more strip styrene yet I’m out of cash. So....

I am prepping to give a clinic next month on building trees. So I need to make up three rough trees to finish at the clinic and paint up a trunk.

If I get around to it I might finish the control tower. It needs paint touch up, window glass, stairs, chimney, railing repair, and attachment of the building on the platform.
