Paul, how soon until we see products hitting the shelves. Needing to purchase detail parts in bulk again... Thanks.
Yes! This would be great! I enjoy my(Jenks Blue) Missouri Pacific GP15-1's. If Atlas ever produces again in either Trainman/Master with more details. This would be another solid purchase of locomotives from Atlas!
Also AMF at one time owned Harley Davidson. This didn't go too well. Until the workers and the grandson bought it back.
I respect Paul and the effort he goes to, to preserve the Atlas image. I just wish sometimes that you were working for someone else. I think I said something similar, earlier when Atlas bought out someone else. Here it comes: "Anyone else by Atlas." ConCor, Micro-Trains, Kato but not Bachmann. I have no love lost for Atlas Products and that's been an on going preference since I was a youngster. They've made improvement in their track selection but I'm still using Peco switches and Kato switches. Sorry, to all who may be Atlas Loyalist but I'm just not one of you.
Not Splitting any hairs here. To me Atlas is my #1 choice for locomotives. They are more reliable and run smother then the other big brands. Kato on the other hand has a small selection of prime movers and road names. I am yet to run and test my Intermountains. I've had Bachman, never liked their locomotives. People say the newer are better and their warranty is top notch. Sorry I am not into returning my whole locomotive in which I added some details or upgraded the electrics. The others I am not impressed with either their performance or their choices. For as rolling stock. Even the early Atlas cars are decent. Yes Micro Trains are in another class. Though deluxe innovations were a force to be recon with until they were bought out. Some of the other smaller companies are making very decent rolling stock too! BLMA were great too! Now few years later I really see the improvement with the details of Atlas products, yes technology has improved too. Do got to say whenever Atlas comes out with the MoPac in Jenks blue. Somehow my savings account goes empty quickly.
My vote goes to Atlas also. Atlas supports their products with what seems like a better inventory of parts. Invariably if I need a part for a Kato engine it is not in stock. Same is true of Bachmann, LifeLike and Walthers. With Atlas I can't recall needing any part that Atlas did not have in stock.
Like you said. Paul and his crew stands behind their product. I never had a problem with ANY of my locomotives from Atlas. I even still have the older Lenz decoders in a few of them that are still(as of my last running before I came to France in 2017) performing well. Never had to oil them or do a traditional break-in. Glad I never broke/lost anything on them including small pieces. Plus whenever I had to run them on a(depending on the club) DC layout. For the most part they all run at the same speed. Here's me and my(all DCC running on DC) five engines Mo Pac 100+ car train at one of our club events in Virginia Beach. I was running a little over 3/4 of this layout. This was a few years back. I think if I remember correctly I two other locomotives 2/3rds of the way back to keep it from string lining and breaking another MircoTrains coupler. This was my signature running in this setup. I have a chart which has the weight of every car. Yes most of my rolling stock is of Missouri Pacific origin.
Mike, check this thread out and it may answer some of your questions. https://www.trainboard.com/highball...dure-bullet-train-layout.128279/#post-1111862
@ R I Straw, thanks, Many the time I've thought about building something you like your layout. @Mike, Thanks, good to see you still here. I'll respond further in my 'home thread'.
