The SD-M (rebuilt SD18) LSRX (DM&IR) 316 is headed to Parshall, ND to serve the grain elevator there. The current elevator goat, a former NP GP9, will go back to the museum to replace 316. Nice catch! http://www.missabe.com/cms/DMIR_SD-M_316
Was one of those "Happy accidents!" It was sure fun sitting on the edge of the road, flashers going, jumping out like a crazy to get these pics! Oh, yes! I model in N scale, so I am iNsaNe!!!
From about 1986 at the Coosa Street crossing in Montgomery, AL. The 8557 is an SD-50 with quite the horn array.
A few weekends ago, Metrorail in Austin, Texas was testing out their new Positive Train Control (PTC) system with a borrowed Austin Western locomotive. It was parked in the hole at the Leander Metro station when we coasted by on the Hill Country Flyer.
I will probably never get used to seeing this kinda thing out my backdoor! This tank car on flat is reminiscent of days gone by,
I saw this Union Pacific train going east at the Kenosha St. crossing in Broken Arrow Oklahoma on 10/25/19. There was about 50 railcars altogether, usually the train runs through town at 2:00 or 3:00am but that day it went through about 6:00pm. Joe
First time out and about in a while! Caught these parked across the street from the depot here in town! Guess it was too cold to work! About 20* at the time. With light snow falling! Had a new Sheared Beaver/Lynx coat to keep the cold away! BNSF SD70MAC #9646 and BNSF SD70MAC #8963
Man, what a great shot. Note the mix of position light and lower quadrant semaphore signals. By the end of 1901, the PRR had acquired 39% of N&W and had four Directors on N&W's Board. In the decades that followed, the PRR influenced N&W's interests, including signaling. This resulted in PRR position light signals replacing N&W semaphore signals.
Great photo. Eighteen years later I stood on the same platform in the upper left as a similar train passed going in the same direction while my camera sat on my car's seat a few feet away.
