Good thing i repacked everything in a somewhat order.

After having to move again into a no room for any kind of layout because the trailer park is being leveled for a 400 unit apartment complex.

They got us into an office cubicle best way to describe it.

Well that went away as they got us back into another 2 bedroom mobile home.

Spare room is kinda cramped at 7' X 11' but no more moves.

So here is something I was playing with earlier to get a base idea of what would need to be done as the layout will be moduler at 2'3" X 4' around the walls per section.

Hoping to base it in West Virginia this will be a 3 level layout staging to city outskirts to mountains.

I have the levels already figured out to get to each one.

Here's what I have so far and the grain sidings will hold 12 grain hoppers each at approximately 9 feet.

There will be a mainstreet with houses/trailers, businesses, a small cold storage facility, diner or two. Police/Fire/Ambulance services in one Building.

A small engine service facility with a 3 stall roundhouse/turntable for the locals power, an assigned switcher for the Grain & C.S.

And no I don't plan on overcrowding it I want that small town feeling if I can pull it off.

Here's the pics don't laugh to hard.

Good that you got some space. I would be very interested in seeing how you do three levels.

Can't lay my hands on it right now, but somewhere, I have a Kalmbach track plan book that included a three level Union Pacific layout. It was designed to run fairly large power and rolling stock in an area not much larger than you have- about 9'X10' if I remember right. Might be worth looking up. I remember it incorporating some good ideas.

This an interesting plan Vince. I googled 3 level MRR track plans
And got a few hits, and a couple chat groups were talking about it.

Took me a while to find it, but the book is Wakaround Model Railroad Track Plans by Don Mitchell. The layout is actually designed for an 8'X9' space, but could probably be nicely massaged into 7'X11'. I once considered it for my future space, but rejected it because the ceiling is too low on one side. If you have at least an 8' ceiling, it could be just what you're looking for. Kalmbach no longer has it, but there are four listings on Ebay right now ranging from $3.98 (cheap)(y) to $24.99 (Almost twice new price).

Welp here's the first module progress for the rural 2nd level of 3 levels.

This module is 29" inches wide by 4 ' long, it consists of 30 screws and the cross supports can be moved or recut to fit the incline/decline track that will be required to get from each level.

Slow going as we'll see what comes from this.

Okay after many years of trying to put my Indian Rock Railway to sleep it just keeps coming back to life.

So will definitely be modeling the West Virginia Region.

Now to go work on a new Indian Rock power roster.

Layout on temp hold until get funds to get more lumber.

    Thanks for looking.

    @RailMix

Received the walk-around model railroad track plan book just now.

The UP track plan is cool but I won't be using a helix per se gives me a couple ideas and helped me in one area i was figuring out.

    Thanks
