whats exactly in the box of woodland scenics inclines ??
    2 % icine sets...
if i understand it the starter sets are just the very beginning of the incline and not the whole incline up to 2" .
im looking for incline set to go up to 2" the stay at 2" for a few feet then back down from 2" to 0 "
If you know what the part number is for a set that im looking for please post that so i can give it a look. Thank You

The incline kit gets your from 0 to the stated height. You then add a riser kit of the height, which is flat. An incline kit gives you two "ramps". If you need to go higher than an incline allows, you stack it on a riser.

In this (very old) photo, you can see an incline (sitting on the blue foam) and a section of still uncovered riser (under the tail of the Calif Zephyr, in foreground)

so what your saying is i need to buy more stuff to get to the 2" height... the box says it comes with 6 or 8 pieces . so all of these pieces are just ramps?? i do under stand that i will need some 2" plain ol flt stuff for a 2 or 3 foot section that needs to be 2" in hieght but then i need to come back down to 0" from that. so they go from 0" to 2" and thats the end then add my flat section of 2" then buy another set to go from 2" to o " ... i wish they would just show the dang things thats in the box so i can get a better idea.. of what the heck im buying. a lot of it just shows 4 or 5 parts but its not exactly what your getting. there are no hobby shops near me at all so i cant just drive over an take a look. your photo does not show me what i need to know.

perhaps i should say i need to go from 0" to 2 " does these sets have that or not,,,,,,,
or is it that these sets only come with 6 to 8 sets of inclines from 0" to 0.5' heights and i have to add stuff to those in or to get my height .... what i need is a set that goes from 0" to 2" no adding stuff . one ramp from o to 2

If it says "incline", all the pieces in the box are inclines (based on grade %). If it says "riser", all the pieces are FLAT, at the height specified.

If you want to go up and down, get inclines. If you want to run at a given height above your surface, you need inclines (to get there) and risers (to stay there).

    See the NOTE

    INCLINES/DECLINCE
    • Description

Incline/Decline Sets are the ideal way to alter the elevation of your track quickly and easily. Each set includes the high-density foam pieces necessary to raise or lower the elevation of your track. Incline/Decline Sets come in either 2%, 3% or 4% grades.

Sets can start an incline at 0" and reach a maximum height of 4 1/2" (11.4 cm). Declines can start at a maximum height of 4 1/2" (11.4 cm) and lower to 0". Actual measurements depend on the grade used.

NOTE: One Set only includes foam pieces necessary either to create an incline OR create a decline. One Set cannot do both. You will need two Sets to create both an incline and a decline on your layout.

To install Incline/Decline Sets, pin in place with Foam Nails and attach with Foam Tack Glue™ or the Low Temp Foam Glue Gun and Glue Sticks.

If it's going up then right back down and your using only half of the inclines that will only get a 1 inch rise in height.

As using all of the 2% grade incline gives you your 2 inch rise.

SEE this is exactly why im always confused . There is no CLEAR statement on these or much of any thing for that matter.
WHY is this not VERY CLEAR.??? I mean so clear that a dummy like me can figger it out with out asking any questions .

OH and THANK YOU guys for the replies .

In the 2% box the sections, it goes from 0 to 4". Each section has a 1/2" rise
    1. 0 - 1/2"
    2. 1/2-1"
    3. 1" - 1.5"
    4. 1.5" - 2"
    5. 2" - 2.5"
    6. 2.5" - 3"
    7. 3" - 3.5"
    8. 3.5" - 4"
Each piece is 2 foot in length, so the total is 16 feet (4" over 16 feet is 2%)

Yes he's correct I thought you were using the 2% inclines not the 4% inclines.

Sorry about the confusion yes half of 4% will give you your 2" rise your after.
