Does anyone have any Info on a WINDOWS 10 BASED wifi throttle that will work with JMRI. I Have used my phone to control trains with JMRI, but its old and the battery does not last. would like to use my windows 10 based tablet to control trains. internet search comes up with nothing only phone based throttles.

I don’t recall that anyone ever wrote a throttle program for win 10 tablets (Or even win 8 or win 10 phones). Edit, I was apparently wrong, see below.

Keep in mind Microsoft tablets also came in two flavors. Is yours the win 10 mobile software (like win 10 Phone) and mobile chipset, or win 10 desktop (like a computer) with laptop hardware?

I don’t know which version this is for, but is what I found.

Says for Xbox One, Windows 10 version 10240.0 or higher

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/train-throttle/9nblggh4vf5j?activetab=pivot:overviewtab

But I was able to google that up for you in about 30 seconds.
Keywords: windows 10 WiThrottle or windows 10 engine driver. Forget which worked.

Second EDIt: found website I think will help you also

On a Windows 10 device It works as webpages in JMRI.

Open your browser and type the IP address of your WiThrottle and add at the end of the IP address :)12080) This will pick up the JMRI Panels, and Roster anf also the Turnouts and routes.

    Try it.

checkout a program called Digitrains Pro .... it works on win 10 as well as android and should do what you want.

I'm the developer for Train Throttle. If there's anything I can do to help you get it to run on your tablet, feel free to reach out to me.

I'm a new JMRI user and have downloaded "Train Throttle" onto my win 10 dell latitude D630 laptop. I am running both JMRI and Train Throttle on the came laptop. JMRI Web Throttle works fine as well as other WiThrottles.
Train Throttle v1.14 beta starts up in auto config and just sits saying "Attempting to locate the JMRI server" says "Connection info: Not connected!
    upload_2019-8-22_15-3-51.png
    upload_2019-8-22_15-4-42.png
I get the message indicated at the bottom of the Train Throttle screen.
I have tried turning auto config off, entered the correct ip and port but it still wil not connect.
Any thoughts on what might be the issue?

So judging off of the screenshot alone, you're probably sending some data that my app is having trouble parsing. If you click on the big blue bar in the middle of that screen - where it says "Errors: 10", it will take you to a super-secret (not really) debug screen that might help. Can you screen shot that and either reply here or email it to me? I'll PM you my email.

If that doesn't work, do you mind sending me your JMRI config files, and I'll try re-creating the issue locally?

    Hello Wizard,
Thank you for the App. I am new to this & seem to be having an issue. Train Throttle is unable to connect to JMRI. Have attached 2 screenshots. I tried both the IP addresses, 192.168.1.156 & 192.168.81.1
Of course, Port 12090 is to be mentioned separately.
The locomotives & turnouts work via DecoderPro but I can't seem to have Train Throttle to connect.
Could you help, please! Unable to connect_1.jpg Unable to connect_2.jpg Unable to connect_1.jpg Unable to connect_2.jpg

I believe the issue lies with JMRI and TrainThrottle running on the same computer and Windows 10/UWP apps not able to connect to a local server. Can you run JMRI on a different PC?

I had the same problem. Did not use up much time trying to figure out the problem.

Start the JMRI WEB Server first.

However, I believe you have to use 192.168.81.1:12080 and not the 12090.

    Give it a try.

    Hello,
Appreciate the help. Did try what you suggested. Corrected the port & started the JMRI web server first. But it yet does not work. Am attaching screenshot.
How do I know that the JMRI server is up & running? I did start it from the Actions menu. In any case it is set to start when DecoderPro starts up. But I don't see a separate JMRI server window.

Difficult to have 2 laptops engaged in just running a model train! Am trying what Dennis is suggesting. If it yet does not work, will try to see if Digitrains Pro works as Esfeld has suggested.
    But thanks!

    Hello,

I have a question about auto-reversing and have posted this elsewhere. Am pasting it here again, if you have any idea about it...

    Hello,
I am new at this. Have started building my simple DCC track plan with Kato, N scale, using JMRI, DecoderPro throttles. The track plan has a self loop. So I am told that it needs something like a PM42 for auto-reversing. But I also understand that the PM42 needs to be configured and it cannot be configured through JMRI. It needs a Digitrax Command Throttle which I do not intend to have. Does it also need a break-out board to connect it to anything?

I wrote to Digitrax and they got back saying that they do not provide technical support for using PM42 with JMRI.

I intend using PM42 because it takes care of future expansion plans.

I did try to read online about using PM42 with JMRI but I didn't understand something about it needing the LocoNet or at least LocoNet Data Signal termination. I am confused. I have no LocoNet, the only other item from Digitrax that I have is DS64 turnout controller and it works well on JMRI DCC as is.

Is there a simpler way to take care of auto-reversal? Or rather, which is the right way for a not too complex layout.

    Thanks,
    EsK

I am a bit confused. Is Train Trottle looking for JMRI Web Server or WiThrottle server or JMRI Simple Server?

JMRI has throttles built in for using one computer. I have only used an app for an android. I have also only used engine driver. Is train throttle better by any chance?
