In 2008 I started logging N scale Frisco locomotives, freight and passenger cars, cabooses, mow and semi trailers. The first matrix had 78 items and eleven years later has grown to 420. Some of the missing information on the matrix is noted with a "x", if you have any information on the missing data please let me know. I need help to complete the matrix.

    Your help is greatly appreciated!!!

    That's a wonderfully extensive spreadsheet.(y)

Did the N Scale Arnold Rapido boxcar you so nicely photographed about halfway down on the below page make it into your Excel sheet? I might have missed it somehow.

I took this photo of Atlas' N Scale FA-1. It's on the Excel sheet as being Blue/Yellow, but you may want to edit this to black/yellow.

Glad to help. I see that the five Atlas' B30-7s and Atlas Extended View cabooses on the sheet show as being Orange/White in color. You may want to revise these also to Red/White. My photos of both are here.

I would leave the color for the Mandarin as-is. It's somewhere between red and orange. My 1/8 scale (7-1/2" gauge) FM H10-44 is in the scheme and I believe the painter used Simplicity yard machine orange.

I was thinking that if a new N Scale Frisco modeler used Joe's Excel sheet for reference and read "orange" while seeing red on their model, they might incorrectly assume Atlas produced two color variations on their models, some orange and some red. Maybe Joe could make a footnote on the sheet somewhere to more fully describe the situation so that people aren't attempting to hunt up Atlas N Scale models in orange.

I suppose it's somewhat akin to referencing Mint Green as the proper color of SAL Es, but everybody sees it as white.

Hardcoaler and guys, I will add a footnote at the bottom of locomotives list. How does this sound...

Mandarin/White is the official colors of Frisco locomotives. Some models look Red and some look Orange.

That reads perfectly to me. That'll keep any Frisco fan straight, whether newbie or seasoned veteran. :) In my cleaning up, I just found a Frisco matchbook. Heck, they even printed a system map inside the cover. Have a cigar!

    That's a cool matchbook.

Thank you for your help!!! Glad you like the statement for Frisco locomotives colors.
I think anyone would be able to understand the difference between the colors. Should I add to the statement that it applies to second generation locomotives? First generation is Black and Yellow or Blue and Yellow.

Well, considering first generation passenger diesels were a darker red, maybe so.

I added the statement explaining the colors of Frisco locomotives to the Frisco N Scale Manufactured Releases Matrix.
    It now reads...

Frisco's second generation locomotives official colors are Mandarin and White.
Some models look Red, some look Orange.

Also I changed the colors on the FA-1 from Blue and Yellow to Black and Yellow.

Thank you guys for your help!!!
    I am very grateful.

I found out tonight that the full name for Frisco locomotives colors are Mandarin Orange and White. A fellow member and friend on Frisco.org alerted me to the true color.

Atlas released four covered hoppers and four bulkhead flat cars at the first of October. They were logged into my Frisco matrix this afternoon and will post Monday afternoon. My laptop is not connected to the net so I go to the library to post documents.

Hey Joe, a few notes regarding Bluford Shops...
Under the 86' boxcar section, road number 9126 is the single while 9120 and 9133 are the 2-pack. We did not do a #9123 so I don't know where that came from. Regarding the transfer cabooses, we also did these in yellow seen here: http://bluford-shops.com/bluford_93_034.htm
Also, these Frisco International Car Phase IV Bay Window Cabooses (in Mandarin and white) will come out later this month: http://bluford-shops.com/bluford_93_009.htm

    Craig
    Bluford Shops LLC.
PS. While post-1967 painted locomotives were all Mandarin and white, cabooses in this scheme were sometimes Mandarin and white and sometimes red and white. If you have an Atlas extended vision caboose that looks red, that's because they were red.
