Tracks approaching the north platform side of CUS have a sharp 90° curve a little north of the station. Does anyone know the radius of these curves?

    Thanks,

    It's this curve, right?

I have no idea, but I have an old note where I calculated that the minimum radius for a prototype E-8 is 274 FT which converts to 20-1/2" in N Scale. We can guess that this curve has a radius much greater than that, as this curve saw thousands of Es effortlessly glide through, and CB&Q and MILW operated 4-8-4s from Chicago Union Station. The prototype measures curve radius in degrees, as calculated using a 100 FT "chord", so it gets a little confusing translating the numbers to model trains. I used to have it all figured out, but my brain worked better when I was young. o_O I'll bet some other members can help us here.
