I believe those are Boeing 737 fuselages on special flatcars. They ship them from Wichita KS to Seattle WA.

While I am on a purchase-moratorium, I did need to get some decoders from Germany, which arrived today (on a moratorium exception basis). A few different versions of the D&H DH05 decoder, but more importantly, the ZIMO made KATO compatible decoder sets for the ICE4 train and expansion. (Since I want RailCom compatibility for the future, I did not get the KATO decoder for the ICE4).

Also, I was recently in Japan and picked up the Kyoto Railway Museum souvenir car, as well as several packs of Tomix and other brand Japanese containers (not all I got are shown), a little bit of "Open Pit Track" KATO unitrack, and a couple Japanese busses from Tomytec, and some KATO FL12 function decoders. And I brought home some Unitrack and other things (no pic) that I had had sent to my SIL's house in Kobe last December that got misplaced by my SIL and so they did not come home with the wife when she did a quick trip to visit her mom, who had been diagnosed with cancer.

That picture of you holding up the two Tomix containers. The background looks like a HUGE hobby store!

Maybe I need a vacation to Japan. :ROFLMAO:

Yeah the background is the main floor of Yodobashi Camera in Sapporo. One of the smaller Yodobashi stores (compared to Umeda [Osaka] and Akihabara [Tokyo]). It is a giant electronics, appliance, hobby/toy, computer, and personal items [makeup, personal items like razors, hairdryers, etc] store. Multiple floors. The Sapporo store's actual Hobby/Toy area is smaller than the other stores I listed but they still had a reasonable selection of train stuff. There are a lot better hobby - train only stores there in Japan but Yodobashi is one of the least expensive and they have easy tax-free for tourists and also do 5% discount for tourists who pay using Visa [and UnionPay] and also do tax free. You need 5400 ¥ min purchase to do tax free so small purchases are at normal Japanese prices.

Yodobashi Camera locations are all 4-6 floors or so.

The other stuff (track, other containers) came from Joshin Denki, another similar but smaller electronics store. Most Joshin Denki stores are single or two floor and are in malls, etc and just have normal toy/hobby sections, with no or little trains. In Osaka's Den-Den town ("electric town") area, Joshin Denki has some 5 or 6 locations, and each is specialized. I went to the Kids Land one and one whole floor (about 5 or so aisles, each about 40 ft long) is model train dedicated. Lots of stuff, majority N scale.

You do need to vacation in Japan. It is great fun.

Just purchased a Great Northern Life Like E7. The side lettering was orange and the front logo had black lettering. I replaced them with Microscale decals. The decals are the same size as the original lettering so I just decaled over the original lettering. Now it has the proper yellow lettering and a front logo with white lettering. I have a Kato E8/9 on the way to use the mechanism so I will have a great running unit with DCC.

Thats why there is such delicate detailing.
I would have been equally impressed if that had been a BLI model.

Some of my purchases since I finished my small 11" radius oval layout. Opted for the Bachmann steams because they were cheap. But shelled out for the modern Katos, the slow speed, smooth operation, detailing and matte finish are incredible!

Found another Life Like GN E7 and will order another Kato E8/9 for the chassis. I'll have two E7s since GN ran them in AA pairs on the Empire Builder.
