Welcome back to the start of another weekend. I hope the week has been good for you, now it's time to discuss what you have planned this weekend on the theme of model railroading. Saturday: I'm not planning on getting much done as the weather is finally going to be cooler and since we have friends coming over, yard work will probably be the theme of the day. Sunday: This is the day I hope to accomplish a few things. I'm hoping to re-arrange a room that is outside my work shop and is rarely used so it can eventually be home to my 2-foot by 8-foot HO FreeMo/Switching layout. I have a few odds and ends I would like to get done on the B&M layout as well. So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 26th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and as always... High Greens!
Hoping to paint the control panel I'm building. I'd planned to stain it, but determined that paint would be more practical. Chose a somewhat darkish green with a hint of gray for a railroady look and it goes well with the black panels that hold all of the toggle switches and LEDs. The color is kind of like what's below, but with a slightly deeper tint. The same color will be used on the benchwork.
Been two weeks since I was last able to get down to the layout. Have a long weekend so hoping to get some things accomplished. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
I have given myself until Sept 21 to get the military base module completed. That is four weeks. I am wrapping up my research and starting to collect materials. Friday I will start painting N scale figures. Sunday I glue foam board and hopefully cut the mesonite for the fascia and begin building models. Monday will be more of the same. I have 8 planes, 2 aircraft hangars, a control tower, ops building, squadron building, and a train depot to build.
Well -- I'll keep it simple -- both days. Work on my F unit project. Hope Y'all have a great weekend, Wolf
Here is where I stand on my stockyard project. I just added aluminum light poles (8), all gates have been installed and added an office/scale house building. This weekend I hope to : 1. Install 8 led lights, as I make them. 2. Install cattle and pigs sound boards with speakers. 3. Add some dirt and pooh. 4. Add details such as animals, hay bales, vehicles and maybe a person or two. 5. Weather everything and then dull cote everything. As always, have fun, Carl
I want to finish installing ballast on all of the newly installed track about 12 feet, I painted the track flat black tonight. After that want to start soldering feeder wires so I can run a train. The mainline track is half way done on the Boston Mountains Sub-Division powered by Frisco. Next step is to add to the L-Girder support so I can load module 01. That will open up the area to install modules 09, 10 and 11 the final three modules. Joe
I love the cattle yard scene! My weekend plans involve finishing the paint work on my brass B&O mikado so all is ready for the decoder install and reassembly next week.
