Good morning, good evening, wherever you may be. Welcome back from what I hope for you, was a productive weekend.

Saturday: I spent the morning with my sweetheart to get some of the domestic duties finished and out of the way, then spent some time in my favorite hardware store. I worked on the B&M layout by cleaning track and looking for my Tam Valley turn out controls. Apparently, they have disappeared as a search all day came back with nothing.

Sunday: I cut up the pieces of hardboard that would be the ends of the layout, essentially making the layout a shadow box style layout. I was able to get most of this done, however I had to stray from my own plans as the 100 year old plus house no longer has any straight angles to it. These challenges made for a long day of problem solving but I think success in the end.

So how about you? What did you get accomplished this past weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Friday the 16th to start the process all over again. Until then, have a great week, stay safe and as always...

    High Greens!

This past weekend was a mixed bag ---

Saturday: Installed the decoders in my 2 H12-44 chassis. As well as making great progress on the fuel and air tanks. - This was a great experiment - I will now modify all of my VO-1000's. Getting rid of the flat air tank thing that Atlas came up with. Which has bugged me from the get go.

Sunday: -- It all came crashing down. The Shapeways plastic sucks!! The plastic is beyond brittle. I started work on the H12-44 shells. All I wanted to do was drill a few small holes (for grab irons) -- well, the rear of the cab of the first unit, for a lack of a better description, exploded. So, now I'm deciding how to proceed. Should I do some sort of FrankenMorse - ? Side sills from a VO-1000. Cab from a Minitrix H12-44 and the long hood from the Shapeways H12-44 -- ??

    To be determined.....

Hope Y'all had a great weekend,
    Wolf

I'm getting back into the N Scale GN X-100 project. Initially I cutting out the windows in the sides, but i really am not great at making windows in thicker stock. They end up looking like, well, crap. So I printed the plans on thin styrene, cut the windows, then laminated applied to the caboose sides

Also my second install of the ESU 73100 into a Kato 40-2. These things sound great, and I'm hooked. It takes very little frame modification on the DCC ready split frame mechs. There's a bit of a learning curve with programming. mainly lighting for me. And for some reason, the SMD built in headlight is on constantly.. no idea how to turn it off, even after mucho googling. So, I painted over the damn thing. I'm wiring up additional LEDs for F/R lights anyway.

Friday night after dinner, worked some on the Southern caboose build. That is an on-going project. Spend considerable time Saturday and Sunday putting the first bridge in over the deep gorge in the center of the layout. Here is a shot w/ some of the approach tracks still "pinned" down while the glue sets. I pulled the pins and soldered the feeders last night and ran trains in both directions. Works well and, fortunately, this bridge seemed to level itself w/ the approach tracks without too much fuss. Other bridges I have to adjust, adjust, adjust to get them right. This one "cooperated" as it were.

Lots of clean up to do around it, but it works.

The best of intentions failed. Many hours of overtime at work. Instead of working on a model at the work bench, I fell asleep in my recliner,......

Good weekend for me. I finished the frames and legs for all my modules. I think I got a bit carried away. Today Monday I took a field trip to Wendover, UT to see the WWII Air Force base I will be using as a guide to model one of the modules. [IMG][IMG][IMG]
