Hello All We are looking for ideas for our next N scale locomotive project. We wanted to ask you, the modelers, what locomotive you would like to see Briggs Models produced in N Scale and which you would potentially purchase? It can be from any era. The only real limitation is that we would need to be able to sell 40 to 50 kits to make it a worthwhile project. We have had several suggestions already and they are listed below. • B30-7A (With/without dynamic breaks) • NW5 • CP SW1200RS • GP10 and GP16 • SW1001 • U33C • U18B • U30B Our kits include shells, etched hand rails, detail parts and if required, new fuel tanks and trucks. We have the ability to adapt our design to produce several phases of a particular locomotive. Let’s hear from you! Please feel free to make suggestions or contact me at chrisd@briggsmanufacturingassociates.com Moderators, if this post belongs in the product discussion category please feel free to move it. Kind regards, Chris Dittmar chrisd@briggsmanufacturingassociates.com
Reading Company Q-1; 2-6-4T NYC D-1a; 4-6-6T CNJ H-1s; 4-6-4T There is a shell and mechanism out there for the Reading Company. It actually freewheels well. The motors in those things were horrid. I have a couple that fried their motors. I now push them around with powered boxcars. The thing about the tank engines is that you would have to make even the pilots and trailers electrically live. Diesels: Baldwin or Lima transfer locomotives. Baldwin road switchers Lima yard switchers FM yard switchers FM five axles; the shells are out there everywhere, but no good mechanism.
SDP-40 with correct rear steps and pilot, preferably Kato powered. One cannot have all 3 BN Bicentennials until someone does this. My decals are waiting !!! (I could use 3.) Would also be up for Alco C636 powered by Atlas. (I could use 4.) My "honorable mention" would be AB-6, but only 2 ever existed. BTW, can't wait to start on my C415s. GF is holding them hostage 'til I complete some projects in her condo !!!
