Good morning from Sunny and Warm Northeast Ohio! Managed to get a little work done this week. First is an Athearn ACF 2970CF Covered Hopper Kit, painted with Scalecoat II UP Covered Hopper Gray paint and lettered with Herald King Decals. Cars were purchased to haul Peralite from Magma, AZ to various locations. Second, I managed to finish a 2nd Rock Island 40' PS1 Boxcar Kit w/8' Door, substituted A-Line Sill Steps for the plastic ones in the kit and then painted with Scalecoat II Oxide Red and Black Paints. Car was lettered with a Mask Island Decal set, did two cars as the sets included enough stuff for two cars. Cars were in dedicated service to a manufacturer along the PRR in Columbus, OH. Took my New Haven U25B and C-425 to the club last week with some cars from that era to check them out. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski
A D&RGW SW1000 pulls a caboos off the caboose track. The SW1000s are Athearn models, the cabooses are Atlas wide vision, to which I have afded Plano roof walks and ladders.
Same scene, different Train. Decided to add the poles for overhead wire to the line on the new module so it would not look strange to have an electric running. Here is an E257 series passing over the highway now. A few other details have been added so this one is ready to go for our layout at the 39th Narrow Gauge Convention in September. Wishing everyone a great weekend.
My oldest son made it to town yesterday, and brought a combination Christmas, bday gift! The grandkids came along too, and were excited to watch Grandpa open it. It a DC unit, so I can't run it yet . . . .
