Hi y’all I have this V&T car that I love the details on. However when I scour the bay I’m not seeing anything like this detail (the & symbol is different, the paint scheme without certain stripes etc). Does anyone know who made this car and the circa date? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looks like an old MDC (Roundhouse) car to me. The K brake cylinder, coupler pocket covers and the queen posts look like the old time Roundhouse parts. If the truss rods are made from thread, that would be a dead giveaway. The cars can be found, but you will probably have to paint them yourself.
Did some searching. It appears to be Athearn. http://www.athearn.com/Search/Default.aspx?SearchTerm=Overton&CatID=THRP&OA=True&RN=V&T
Actually, we're both right on this one. Looks like an Athearn re-release of the old Roundhouse Overton cars, so either one could be a starting point if the V&T version can't be found. I just consulted my 1984 Roundhouse catalog. Showed the same car in V&T, but you are correct. The livery is somewhat different. Of course, maybe you could run them together, as I would suspect both liveries may have been correct on different cars or at different times.
The fact that it has metal wheels and McHenry knuckle couplers makes me think it is a relatively new Athearn run.
