Found some decals to do a Detroit & Toledo Shore Line boxcar but it doesn't list any blue color options.

Can anyone help thanks in advance.

    Hi Vince -

Go to this page on the RR Picture Archives site for photos of prototype D&TS rolling stock:

    http://rrpicturearchives.net/rsList.aspx?id=DTS

Of course, the paint jobs on these cars are quite faded, so it's difficult to determine the original colors.

Go to the following Google search results page for photos of D&TS models, plus a few more prototype photvos:

    https://www.google.com/search?biw=1...+boxcar&oq=Detroit+&+Toledo+Shore+Line+boxcar

Finally, I found the image below that shows a paint scheme used for some D&TS locos. It might be useful.

Yes that's what I thought but atsf Blue is way two dark the faded blues are more what i'm looking for as the car I plan on doing will be faded.

So looking to start with a color closer to that

Try GTW Blue, I don't know who makes any now, as I have a few bottles of Floquil left.

Here is an engine I painted with GTW Blue:

The Star Herald first appeared in 1979 with the order of GP40-2's #422-425, after the takeover of the DT&I by the GTW a few units were done with the Star Herald, but reverted back to a white DT&I on the side as the Scotchcal Star Herald was very expensive. #228 was the former Bi-Centennial Unit #1776 that was repainted in 1981.
