Received a pair of Alco C415 kits yesterday before leaving for work. I have wanted these in N since the early 70s !!! At a glance, they look VERY detailed. LOTS of etched brass. Plan was one for CRI&P and one for Turtle Creek Central. I think the TCC might get greedy with these !!! SOOOO happy to have these !!! (BoxCab, cue the banana !!!):):):)

Received four packs of Code 80 yellow insulated rail joiners in the mail today. Now I can start installing track again on modules 01, 02, 03 and 04. Also found my box of Peco turnouts yesterday, so it has been a good week and it's only Monday.

Spent the last nine months providing primary care for my wife and her many medical issues. She is on the way to better health now and so I was able to treat myself to some model railroad stuff. I further cemented my honorary title of "The Hopper King" as bestowed on me by a fellow club member by buying 24 BLI H2a hoppers in N&W as well as 6 more in PRR. After all, one can never have too many hoppers.

Kato GP38-2 that I purchased used on ebay for a very reasonable price. The locomotive was painted in a faux PRR paint scheme. I stripped the model using Scalecoat II paint remover and repainted the model using Scalecoat II paint and Microscale Penn Central diesel decals.

The locomotive is now seeing service on the Long Valley Branch.

I have several Kato GP-38-2s and they're excellent models. Neat that you painted it in PC! (y)

The PC 8024 is the second Kato GP38-2 that I've painted into the Penn Central paint scheme. My original Kato Conrail GP38-2 was stripped and painted into the Penn Central paint scheme as well. I can't really say it's a recent purchase, I purchased this locomotive new from my LHS in 1989.

I repainted PC 8002 into the Penn Central paint scheme in 2001. I agree both of these models have great details and are good runners, except the top speed is about 4 times faster than the prototype's top speed. The biggest issue now is finding the Micro-Trains Pilot conversion kits. I was lucky to find one, as they greatly improve the looks of the model.

I have several of the Atlas GP38 and GP38-2 models, they look and run great but it was the Kato GP38-2 that got me back into N scale model railroading in 1989.

Last day of the national train show. I have decided to do a free mo N n scale module. Here we s the train for it. I’m going with a western theme. Now to figure out how to install a decoder. Also picked up a laser kit to try out.

I painted two Kato GP-38-2s in LV long ago and they still run great. The C-420 is an ancient Model Power junker that I converted to a dummy and painted.

No explanation needed -- I'm a PC fan too. (y) It was a terrible era for northeastern railroading, but much of the classic era of railroading was still to be found everywhere on the PC (interlocking towers, PL Signals, cabooses, jointed rail, diesels of all kinds, freight pulled by electrics, weedgrown branchlines to everywhere, four track mains, 40' cars, etc.), and it was all so very cool. I have an N Scale Atlas RSD-12 I painted in PC, many freight cars and hope to do other PC models.

Oh, and lest I forget, gifted my grandsons (ages 17 &16) with my 2112 Kia Sorento and replaced it with a 2019 Kia Niro Hybrid. Not quite as big as the Sorento but even with the hills around here I'm getting 54 mpg with the A/C on.

Glad that your wife's health is returning. (y) The Niro is a nice looker and has enjoyed good reviews -- enjoy! I admit to a bit self-induced post-retirement automotive want for a fun-to-drive car. My '06 Nissan Frontier still runs great at 165K Miles and I'd miss having a pickup, so I'm stuck between the wants of my head and my heart.
